Default Some Fan Art that doesn't suck

In the past I've ridiculed some of the bad fan art I've come across. Here are a few recent DeviantArt submissions that I think are actually pretty good. Stevie's face is so hard to draw properly, I find that most artists do a better job with her likeness when they just do a portrait of her "alter ego," instead of trying to draw Stevie and looking ridiculous.

I like how the artist has her flashing a Playboy sign instead of holding Max!

Laugh at this one if you must, but at least it actually looks like Stevie, and the painter actually bothered to layer her hair.

the third one is so good!!!

Funny this thread should show up today, but in French class I was so bored, I started drawing, and I drew Stevie, and it came out horrible!

But then I drew her boots, and those looked amazing!

Okay, I did this one but I wanted to share anyway...hope it's not awful to the eyes. It's always harder to see one's own art as...well...art sometimes.

I do love the detail on the chiffon layers, legwarmers and hair here, quite striking!

Thanks, Barb. It's not the greatest but I did that drawing about 16 years ago and haven't tried since. So, I'm kind of happy with it considering I was a kid myself back then. Eyes are so difficult to do. In mine, she almost has light eyes with the strict contrast I've done them in. Anyway, thank you for the compliment. That was nice!

Well, I think it is a nice drawing!
She is very difficult to draw, and I have only tried a few times...
Sometimes she looks like a black woman (wide nose, full lips) or some other non Stevie entity...LOL. So I appreciate artists who can capture the"look"!

She is a hard one to draw...I think her features are near perfect so to draw her, the look must be close to perfect as possible as well. To capture the soft bedroom eyes with expression. It's a toughie! I liked your comment about you capturing a non-Stevie entity. I would like to see what you have done. I bet you're much better than you say!

LOL, well, I had ONE that I liked, but it is at my Mom's somewhere...but when I see how people do all this beautiful shadow and highlighting, mine is no where that good.
I have fun with digital art, where I don't have to make someone look like someone! HAHA!
I enjoy adding the ambiance to already beautiful photographs~
Or creating something from scratch, this started as a blank white page, and with the aid of Photoshop plugins and accessories, I made this pretty cute little print:

And it is always fun to make a video capture collage, like this one:

But, I leave the real drawing and painting to the ones who can do it well, like you, and Jo, and so many of these artists online!

Photoshopping is an addictive sport!

You can even take your drawings, Pip, and add enhancements with all the features.

I drew this one the same time you did, back when I was a teen, and I removed some trees from the background I did. It's just her standing there with this floating ball...dunno quite what I had in mind for that, but with Photoshop, I will see about making it look differently. Here's the before and after from photoshopping the trees out. Now, what the heck do I do with that pose?
