Look, the only way to go with popcorn is the truffled variety. Air popped popcorn, butter, sea salt and white truffle oil. If you're feeling extra fancy, kick in some pepper and parmesan cheese. Man, I have eaten more food than God tonight and now I want popcorn.

God doesn't need food. The proper term is: "I've eaten more food than Amber tonight, and I still want popcorn!"

Do truffles grow like lemons in Canada? It seems like it, cause you always say truffle oil should go on everything. I've never even seen truffle oil in our stores. Is it some kind of French thing? *sings* "There's no Cana-DA like French Cana-DA, it's the best CanaDA in the world!...I think you'd understand... I know you'd understand!..."

exactly. it's like macaroni without cheese, cagney without lacey, like sadism without masochism. it's just not right.

Dali is probably my favorite. But not so much this one. My favorite is the one I have of a woman, and her head is breaking apart into many different bubbles, yet it is still recognizable and beautiful. It's like a woman's head being exploded into awesome bubbles, I'm sure you have seen it.
I do love hoity toity quotes, though, so I was right there with ya.

So as to be keeping it real, your quote with pic is great. Also keeping it real, I didn't know that was Dali, but admired the point none the less.
and we all know how much i appreciate keeping it real. except when it goes bad

hmmmm. possibly. what if i just say "more salty nuts"? errrrrr ...

dude. i love that you always have taking-food-back stories. i have never, ever taken food back anywhere.

have you heard about the disease they are calling popcorn lung?, it has happened to alot of wrkers who make microwave popcorn & to 1 guy who eats 2-3 bags a day~ it gives you something similar to lung cancer & is most of the time incurable~ the news did a story on it last week~

Edit: and for the record, to get the time, we always dialed 7678900. I have no idea if that is popcorn, and am waaaay too lazy to walk four feet to my phone and figure it out. The popcorn I ate lowered my blood sugar too much.
well, 767 = pop, 8900=?? apparently 767 is key.

As for Popcorn/Time, I'm not surprised it is no longer available. Plenty of ways to get real time. Just look at your cell phone or online time.

Although you never really had to dial P-O-P-C-O-R-N. You could just dial 767 and then any other 4 digits. The entire prefix was blocked for time. So dial 767-f*uck would get you the time, at least before the service ended.
sigh. I wish you would have posted in MY thread. Thanks

anyway, when we have power outages (and they happen a lot when it snows) I have to go around and reset all the digital clocks and I like to know the exact time. so, if my cell is not powered up, or I dont have a "time" website bookmarked, which now I dont because I wiped my harddrive clean last month, I didnt know where else to turn.

I guess I really wanted to see if there was some reason for the discontinuance. Perhaps it was snack food overload....

we dialed 844-1111 for the weather & time, & me & my brother did it all the time~ back in the late 80's they didn't suspend the number, they just said if you use it, a buck will be charged to your phone bill for ea call~ so we never used it again~ i totally forgot about this till mary brought it up~ we also had a number you could dial called frankenstein's heartbeat, it was 333-0000 & a heartbeat sound would play for as long as you cared to listen, oh yeah & we had the gay/lesbian rap line too it was just 611~

yesterday I did a search for "time" websites and I saw that the US Navy has a site that they maintain re: time. I also saw that there were a lot of toll call numbers for the time.

That is what made "popcorn" so cool, that it was free, and it was forever. since I was a little kid anyway and now, sigh, its gone

I effing LOVE cracker jacks. but I love crunch n much more. 3 or 4 years ago a friend and I drove to fort worth to visit a mutual friend. We stopped midway and I bet i stopped at 4 convenience stores looking for crunch n much. it's essential on a trip.

I love almost all popcorn, including cheese. white cheddar is prob my least favorite, but I'll eat it.

FTR-popcorn is the number one thing that breaks teeth.
