What is avant-pop? (Tusk/LB mention)

But no New Order? Your faith certainly isn't true.

PS to Gerald: The day you'll actually list something mainly machine-driven, that's the day I'll eat my shorts.

Well... which album would best represent this avant-pop cred of New Order? I suppose Substance with its extended mixes and disc-2 remixes/b-sides displays this, plus that's kind of an interesting way to collect an artist's work, so even it's format is "avant-pop." And, yes, it contains the greatest song of all time. But really all New Order albums are avant-pop, no? But what about the first Electronic album? That should be on there too (though I prefer the last two Electronic albums -- all three mighty -- but they strike me as less "avant-pop").
