Default Anyone Watching A&E's Series "Mad Men?"

created by one of the head writers from the sopranos, the series premiered earlier this summer and to be honest, i can't get enough of it. the cast is great, the storyline is interesting, and the characters are such loveable bastards. set in the late 1950's, it follows the life of don draper; an executive at a manhattan advertising agency as well as his colleagues -- and the women in his life.

if you haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet, it's on every thursday night at 10pm on a&e as well as "on demand" on comcast.

I'm totally hooked on this show. Also, the Don Draper character is great. I love the way the sets are designed with so many vintage things from that era, for instance the cigarette holder in Draper's office.

I remember seeing commercials for it and thinking, "I'd probably love that show." But then I forgot to tune in for it from the beginning. I'll see if I can "on demand it" here.

I don't think it will have any problem with the ratings. A lot of people are talking about it.
Peggy and Pete was something else. I'll tell you what bugged me though. He's sitting there in such a dark mood and in the left side of the frame you can see the shotgun. I hope he's not going to end up offing himself.
I figured that Salvatore was gay. And the whole thing with him on the phone speaking Italian to his mother was great.
Don smoking pot with the beatniks was unexpected. It was cool though because we finally get to see a glimpse of his childhood. I loved the whole thing with the hobo and drawing the chalk signals. And did I hear him right when he said he was a "whore child"?
I think this has been the best episode yet. I can't wait for more. Also, I felt so bad for Peggy doing the twist and crying at the same time after her big day. I also feel bad for the switchboard operator who has the hots for Salvatore and no gaydar whatsoever.

I dont get A&E and I truly lament it every day. I also miss the History channel and Discovery and all the other brain food channels that cable has. Sigh.
