Some fans made some bass separations from the 5.1 DVDs of The Dance & the DVD-A of Rumours that Ken Caillat worked on. The Dance examples were titled Dancing Alone. Do you have that?

It's a lot easier to hear the bass in tracks that Lindsey engineered back in the old days than in later Fleetwood Mac stuff that Greg Ladanyi or Mark Needham engineered.

I think she was originally asking for someone to play and record the bassline itself. Though I'm sure just separating it out would suffice.

No, I don't have any bass separations.

Who? Oh you mean that guy with the cap?

No really - I totally, 100% agree with you. I've come to realize this more and more as time goes by. As they said in the Rumours doc., "You'd recognize that baseline anywhere." I think that Stevie is HEAVILY dependent on him; for example in "Rhiannon." And he's amazing in The Chain. Those, i.m.o., are just the two most-obvious examples. For those who have never had the pleasure, take the time, somewhere down the line, to sort of "tune Lindsey and Stevie out" and listen to John, and to how John and Mick "play off of" each other. It's truly remarkable and I feel certain that Stevie and Lindsey would agree. i.m.o. this rings true both pre-and post- S & L.

P.S.: Fleetwood who??? Oh MAC - right!

You need the Dancing Alone deal. Someone had them available to post. I don't have them on my computer (or on CD.. my copy is back from the cassette days) but, they're a great way to hear the parts better. You can even hear him singing along with the bass in Say You Love Me.
