This is bound to stir up some **** on the board, but then again, what hasn't? I'm just wondering something, because with all the younger kids on here now, I was curious if this new "generation" of FM fans is as bad as those of us who came along from 1997-2003. Veteran Ledgies, you still stickin' it to the man? Newer Ledgies, are you proudly following in our footsteps? Either way, I want to know.
This will be an anonymous poll; if you feel like elaborating, be my guest. NO ASSHOLERY, EITHER. I don't wanna hear it. If you want to feel my wrath, fine, but like Sarah said, I eat babies. You don't mess with a chick who eats babies. That being said, my question for all Ledgies... Do you hit the head? Smoke the tree? Insert other clever euphemism for smoking weed?

I'll Elaborate.
Ive never tried it, dont know if I'd ever want to or not. In My opinion, if somebody does it, its thier own bussiness, and I could really care less if somebody wants to do it. It doesnt make you any less of a person. I think, that overall, Pot is the least harmful of all of the 'illeagal' drugs, and if I were to do a drug, I think it would be my drug of choice. But Id only do it at home in my basement, a la That 70s Show. The only time I even disrespect someone for doing that stuff, is when kids are doing it at school, during school hours, just because everyone makes a big deal out of it, and it just gets annoying how people think it makes them cool for doing it at school. my philosophy on it is -do it if you please, but do it on your own time, in private. |

I began smoking pot in my younger, rebellious days.
I continue it out of my belief that it does have spiritual and medicinal qualities. I smoke in cycles. I'll smoke fairly heavily and frequently for, say, a week or two. Then maybe I won't smoke at all for a week or two. Or, I may smoke one time a day, every day for a long period of time. I don't believe in wasting grass or smoking more than it takes. I have very, very strong beliefs about it, actually, and I would consider myself an activist. A few of my friends in the "more legal states" actually are medical growers or associated with medicinal marijuana clinics. They are very well educated, traveled, and seasoned individuals, and the stories they have to tell are incredibly touching. I think it's a damn shame that this government - the government of the prozac nation - encourages citizens to cram pill after pill down their throats, even warning that they "may cause unpleasant side effects, such as FALLING ASLEEP WHILE DRIVING", yet a plant... that grows in practically every part of the world and has been used in treatments for thousands and thousands of years... is "wrong" and "illegal". What the **** you? As I mentioned in another thread, I have an anxiety disorder. Truthfully, marijuana is the only "substance" (i hate calling it that.. it's a plant!) that helps me chill out without turning into a freaking zombie-fied form of myself. I could go on for years. THIS is my primary topic of sociopolitical concern. If you can't legalize it, decriminalize it, and stop throwing stoners in jail with mandatory sentences and letting violent offenders out on parole!

I do not smoke very much at all (2-3x per year), but I used to love it. I waited a long time to try it too, which was 25. In my late 20's, I couldn't get enough of it.
Similar to Sarah's post, I'd like to see the day when I go to my grocery produce section and see pot available, just like any other herb. On edit, I'd rather people smoke weed than drink alcohol. I find alcohol to be the worst of the two "evils." Last edited by Richard B; 08-30-2007 at 09:36 PM.. |

Oh, and I'd just like to add, that if you'll do a little research, you'll learn that it was only made illegal because of corruption, racism, and ignorance.
"Marihuana influences Negroes to look at white people in the eye, step on white men's shadows and look at a white woman twice." "There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos, and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz, and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and any others." "...the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races." "Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death." "Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men." "Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing" "You smoke a joint and you're likely to kill your brother." "Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind." And, it remains illegal today for, yet again, corrupted reasons: 1. big tobacco doesn't want it legal and 2. bureaucrats won't have a job anymore if they run out of people to "punish" or "treat". And, now, thanks to the wonders of D.A.R.E. and Reagan's "War on Drugs" (which has increased overall drug usage by an estimated 80 percent) the government has SUCCESSFULLY CONVINCED YOU that it was RIGHT to make it WRONG. Be proud, America... they are looking out for you! And, you know, that's just talking about smoking it. Nevermind the fact that hemp was a valuable crop for hundreds of years and sustained many, many farms/plantations when America was first colonized. Nevermind the fact that hemp could be a valuable crop for farmers NOW who are otherwise suffering as they try to compete worldwide. Nevermind the fact that hemp has shown promise as a biofuel for more than 100 years. And, nevermind the fact that hemp could be used for paper products instead of whacking down trees. Ignorance. We are consumed by it. And, I'd also like to add a disclaimer that I don't think everyone should smoke it or use it. I just think people need to STFU about it being wrong, when they have no evidence that it's wrong other than the government says so. It's just like anything else... not for everyone. Some people see no effect. Some people let paranoia (because of legality and social stigma) affect them more than the high, and that's not good. It really is just a shame anytime - when it comes to something dealing with your own body and mind - you're forced to feel bad, hide it, or whatever. p.s. carrie, you just need some good weed. :P

EXACTLY! I've never heard of somebody killing someone while stoned, but while drunk, a whole sh*tload can happen. Pot is not as bad as everyone thinks, and this is coming from somebody who has never tried it. |

I put every once in awhile, but actually it's more rare than that.
I havent' smoked it in a few years. it's the only illegal drug i've tried or will ever try. I actually enjoy it (although the last time i did it i had a bad experience) and I wish it were legal. I agree with the people who say it is a MUCH safer drug than alcohol, but with anything, it's not without it's consequences. there is no way I would ever be able to drive or do..really anything while completely stoned. I'm sure there are some people who do just like those who drive drunk. I enjoyed doing it either in the comfort of my own home (or friend's home) or at concerts was always nice. but right now while on this diet, I don't need anything that's gonna give me the "munchies" ![]() Last edited by michelle2677; 08-30-2007 at 10:20 PM.. |

I've never smoked it and never wanted to (though I've had some contact highs at concerts and such). I hate it; the smell makes me nauseous and I can't stand to be around anyone who is smoking or who smells like it. Same goes for tobacco.

but i get drunk munchies like freakin crazy. (i'm proud of myself, i haven't had a drink in almost a week. i've decided to try to quit drinking for the most part again.) and that makes me kind of sad vicky, but i respect your opinion. i love the way it smells. different strains smell differently... but i love the piney, woodsy smell. ahhhh.
