Classic....
A female baby lawyer just got her ass chewed. She asked me for a Contempt Citation...I told her to do a search on the computer...so she found one in another case and copied it. (Dumb bitch didn't change the names in the caption - Jefferson County District Court - or the case number ....) Now, she's pissed at me. Why do I have to do all the thinking?? I swear, these people are sooooo lazy....or else stahooopid. She says I should have reminded her. |

Yeah, well that law degree did nothing for her ugly feet. She's running around here with no shoes or socks on. I swear, she has the ugliest feet this side of the Mississippi...
Dr. Scholls would love to get a crack at these bunions.... |

Yes, it's part of your job to: a. be a mind-reader; b. not make any mistakes; and c. correct all of their mistakes, without them realizing it, because if you were to point out their mistakes, you would bruise their precious egos, and they would retaliate by giving you something heinous to type at 5 PM. |

I hate when I answer the telephone, and there is a lawyer on the other side.
I politely say: "May I ask who is calling?" And instead of giving me the name...I get the egotiscial response... "I am a lawyer." (Like the word lawyer is synonymus with God, All Mightly, Supreme Being, Magnificient, His/Her Majesty,....etc. etc.) Then I have to ask AGAIN for the name.... I want to answer back (just to throw him/her off). "Oh really? I am a Ledgie." Just to see what sort of response I'd get. |

that's funny. I always try to work in that I was Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk for years just so they know I'm not stupid and used to be the person you begged for a copy of a docket or to stay after 5 to file something, etc. |

The newbie attorneys HATE IT when I point out a statute or a procedure they've overlooked. Never mind that I'm saving their ass.
I love it when one of the sr. partners here gets into arguments with clients. Especially the ones who have watched too many law firm TV shows, and think they know the law, and they always want to sue someone. Sr. partner will start yelling at them, "I'M the attorney, listen to ME!" |

We've got an older attorney here who mainly represents senior citizens...(aka blue-haired ladies).
I had a "blue-haired" call the other day and ask me if Fred specializes in "pro bono". I asked him and he howled with laughter.... (The old ladies always want to chew him down on the bill...or flirt with him to get him to reduce the bill! Believe me, some of these old gals are looking for some action and haven't had any in a LONG time...) |
