A friend just told me about this site. Very cool - you can either search for a walking/running/biking route in your area, or map out a route you usually take & it will give you the mile totals. Enter your full address in the box on the left & it will bring up a map of your hood. On the right, click the symbols to map out your route (the dot is your starting point, the arrow is to click on different points on your route {you have to click at intersections if you're making a turn}) You may have to play around with it at first, but it's easy once you get the hang of it. I think I'll see how far it is to run to Canada, eh?

Oh. And I'm still steady at goal weight.
Nice. I'm a gym rat and use the elliptical so I usually don't walk outside. I can't walk fast enough to get my heart rate up enough. And I can't run cuz of my back. Whine whine So I use the elliptical and I love it. Once in a while I will walk for pleasure though. My roommate's a runner though and I'm passing this along to her.

Still a size 8 here!

these aren't exactly the best representation of what I look like, but they do at least show how much I've lost. they are from a photo shoot I was doing for "camp style" - I'm usually much more into recent styles. anywho, my waist and wrists are small again! woohoo. I never really understood why Stevie's wrists were so important to her, but now I do! and my face is so much thinner, I think.

Yeah, I still do the elliptical 3 or 4 days a week. It really is the most effective for burning calories & getting your heart rate up, IMO. God bless that stupid girl who sold me a such a high quality machine for so little. But when it's nice outside, I try to alternate with biking & jogging too. As long as I do cardio 6 days a week, I'm good.

Oh, and Jazzy? Hot skinny bitch.

^ You need to move, sister. It's obvious you're a California girl....or an NYC one. They obviously don't appreciate you down there.

I agree with Jaz. Personally, I wouldn't want to resort to a fad type diet (or any diet at all for that matter.) We shouldn't be thinking "diet" because if you stop that diet, you will gain the weight back eventually. I've focused more on changing the way I eat & exercise in a way that I can continue for the rest of my life. Nothing drastic, and I haven't cut anything completely out of my diet. Life's too short not to drink beer. Weight Watchers basically taught me how to eat, and now I'm on maintenance. It's become natural for me to eat more fruits & veggies & protein & fiber, and fewer simple carbs - I don't even have to think about it anymore.

My total loss ended up being 20.5 pounds in about 7 months (13 of those pounds were lost in the final 2 months after I made some adjustments, thanks to Theresa. I love that once I started eating a little more, the weight just fell off!) My original goal was to lose 14 pounds, so I'm pretty thrilled. I went from a size 12/14 jean to an 8/10, and from a M/L shirt to a S.

I have held steady between 134 & 136 for the past 2 months, despite the usual increase in eating & drinking that comes along with summer/cookouts/camping/etc. Like Jimmy, I've just been adamant about staying on track with working out & I really think that's the key. I can't tell you how great it feels when people tell me they've noticed I lost weight, or how flat my stomach is, or that I have great muscle definition in my arms & legs. I have so much energy now, I just feel great. So yeah. I'm a happy girl.

And Theresa - your sig is stunningly beautiful, despite the extra pounds we were packing. We should do another one soon - this time, wearing bikinis.
Bikinis? Oy vey Way to go, with the maintaining I've been holding a steady 114 lbs. for a couple months now. Your right, WW makes you make healthy decisions, when chosing what to eat. Definitely a life time plan.

I had a medical 'adventure' this past weekend (You can read about it on my myspace blog) so I had a followup appointment with my MD on Monday...

I was shocked to see that I am currently down to 226 lbs. I changed my eating habits only and lost 10 lbs. since the change, Even though my weight is slowly getting back to my normal expected weight my illness witht the arachnoid cyst is slightly worsening.

Damn you're hard core. I'm still "only" down the 15 lbs. But I swear the weight training is what's done it for me. I'm an 8/10 too but I still weigh 147. I got smaller without losing more weight. I am a medium top still, although they are a bit big, not quite a small yet. I kind of like where I'm at but I would like my stomach to be firmer. I think 140 would be a good weight for me, I'm just a stubborn foodie. I gotta get my own elliptical so it is very accessible as opposed to getting to the gym which can sometimes seem too much. I get there 2-3 times a week and I'm maintaining. I know, go ahead and hate me.

I love that my goal weight was your fat weight. Must be the conversion from Canadian pounds to U.S. or something.

I'm not surprised at all. It doesn't take much to start losing really. The biggest issue most people have (including me) is portion control & eating unhealthy food. Good for you.

I don't hate you, I think that's great! I'm pretty sure I could maintain if I cut exercise down to 4 days, but I'm so used to it now it doesn't bother me to do it. I actually - dare I say - enjoy it! May as well keep at it the same amount. BTW - I did resistance & light weights last night & my ass & thighs are killing me!

Haha, nice location. I like it too, my social life has just picked up a bit. Playing kickball, or hanging with kickballers! So it's hard to get to the gym sometimes whereas it would be a lot easier to jump on the elliptical at home for 1/2 hr. After I move I'll look into getting one second hand.

It took me a long time to like the weight training. A loooong time. But I'm finally there although I have to sometimes push myself through it. I always feel so good when I'm done! That's what I tell myself on those hard days.

Congrats on maintaining your skinny bod, woot! I am getting a lot of extra attention from family, friends, construction workers. Takes some getting used to. Oh yeah, and guys stopping their cars for you to cross just so they can watch. That sort of creeps me out while all the while being flattering.

^ Yeah, I'm torn between being really flattered, or really disgusted by the attention of strangers. A second look from someoneis nice, but a long leer is creepy as hell.
