Aww, I am sure the mad money can be useful again in the future. It is certainly funnier than many of the personal sig. photos around here.

I was present at a lot of the times she mentions , i.e the Halloween Party
in Hancock Park , the gig in Philadelphia when Lindsey was hospitalized ( I
opened up for them, along with Steve Miller and others), at the Producers
workshop when they were putting od's on Rumors, and also whrn Lindsey was producing parts of "Sentimental Lady" at that same studio(Producers Workshop), in Sausulito during much of the recording of Rumors , at Village
Recorderes studio D when they were doing Tusk many many nights,
at Stevies various houses at different times, at Micks Bel-Air house on Bellagio Rd after the "big" meeting , at Micks "Blue Whale " house in
Malibu when he was with Sara Recor, backstage before they went on , on
their private plane when I was opening up for them and Mick was my
manager etc. etc. etc., backstage when Dennis Wilson was on the road with them.......and on and on.I remeber the "bottle caps" (they were Heinekin caps;-)..... the "bumps" on the fist ( I got 'em too , from J.C.)all of that.
I was around Carol Harris a lot. Let me say that , for me, everything she portrays rings true. I never witnessed any personal violence toward her from Lindsey of course, but having been at a lot of the scenes she describes, I would agree with her recreation of the settings , mood,
and personalities of the people and places as she portrays them.

That's my 2 cents...

Bob Welch
thanks for sharing this. for any of the doubters, i do believe this is bob & i do believe you're right, bob, in her story being accurate. otherwise, why was his management so anxious to stop it? too many witnesses like this coming forward to back it up? i'm sure it was a wild ride back then..

That would imply that a contract had been drawn up somewhere along the line. CAH never made any mention of this, she only talks about being his supposed common-law wife based on the amount of years they had been living together, something which hasn't held a 'legal' drop of water since 1896.

Didn't she say in her book that there were some kind of papers drawn up? I think it was when she decided to move out "for a while" (she never came back of course)? Or was that for something else? Maybe I don't remember.

I think that was her referring to the settlement after she moved out, but I'd have to check for sure when I get home.

OK, I think you're right about that though.

Also, by Mick's description in his book, I thought the Chateau would be something fabulous but according to CAH it was cold, old and bug infested.
This is true. I was there for 3 weeks, sleeping in a bus shelter (not the Chateau) and it looked like it could fall apart at any minute. I don't know about the bugs and if it was cold but yes, it was very, very old.

First of all, am I crazy or did I just read a post written by Bob Welch?!?!

Second of all, i think it would be asking too much for CAH to provide total illumination on every incident.

As Mr. Welch testifies, the description of events/milieu is accurate. That's good to know; all of that helps to provide keys to understanding behavior in ways CAH may never be able to. . . including whatever was going on with Stevie and Lindsey.

It really seems unlikely that Lindsey was totally unaffected by Stevie (why else kick her on stage?). And there were moments, like when Lindsey went away to confront Stevie about the arm-grabbing incident, and he's away for hours, and I'm like: "Hello, lady!"

It's interesting to think that Lindsey was taking out his feelings toward Stevie onto CAH, but even if it's true, CAH may very well have been oblivious -- isn't that a familiar circumstance. Remember the Stevie song: "I Don't Wanna Know."

Still, thanks to CAH -- and Bob Welch's testifying to her book's essential accuracy -- we get more evidence through which to sift for the truth.

Yep. And if you look around the other forums, you'll see posts from other members of the band as well.

The contract can be oral or implied. The parties must cohabitate and the sole basis of the contract may not be considered meretricious.

My point is, that while she cited common law in her book, she could very well have had a case in California regardless of common law status.

It doesn't matter, IMO. It would never have made it to court. The matter would have been settled before it ever got that far.
