Ooh I'm sorry. you are right I have to agree about the otherside of the top 40.
I'm not trying to condemned all the new music, they won't give some of the tunes from above the top 40 a chance to come to number 1 , we get stuck with the different new crap from the same establish artists all the time at number 1.instead of this critic wining about Waddy's Guitar playing is to loud has to wake up and smell the coffee and take a look at this new talent out there.I will apologize if I offend anyone on here.

I think the old stuff has staying power, which is so absent in a lot of [not all!] today's music. The old bands and their music will keep going for a long time, while a lot of today's artists - if not quite a "flash in the pan" - will be either forgotten by next Tuesday or their music just won't last.
But the old stuff will _always_ sound good.

oh, i dunno about that. that may be true for the mtv/vh1 music, but i've heard a handful of albums this year that are timeless. check out sharon's recent music thread for suggestions. and i think there have always been flashes in the pan, we just don't remember the ones from the 60s and 70s because, well ...
