I only saw bits of the concert but some of the acts were really good - I liked Brian Ferry, but my god the years haven't been kind to him - he looked like he'd been exhumed. I never thought I would ever say anything nice about Take That, in my life, but I actually felt quite nostalgic when they sang 'Back For Good'. And Elton, I'm not a huge fan but Tiny Dancer is a wonderful song.

................and aren't they all back next week for this Global Warming concert?

Thanks, Pip for the Sarah & Josh vid. It wasn't exactly the best song for either of them; but the crowd seemed to like it. The concert aired again later last night and I missed it again. Oh well. You Tube, here I come.

I've only seen odd snippets here and there but I can't wait to see it, especially Bryan Ferry, Elton John, George Michael and in particular Duran Duran. I'm so excited about their new CD, in spite of the promise that Justin Timberlake will be on it *shudder*!! I spotted a quick interview with Simon LeBon and Nick Rhodes during the concert -- Nick is looking sex-ay The man hasn't aged a day since the last tour (2003)

As for George Michael, I booked our tickets for his concert here this morning! It'll be my second time seeing him and I can't wait, it was the best concert I was ever at.

I recorded the whole lot on DVD (at least, Mum did on my request, I hope it worked!) so if anyone wants a copy let me know and I'll send you one.

I have to tell you that I remember that story from an article published after her death...about how she did NUMEROUS good deeds like that for YEARS that went unrecognized by the public. She would visit patients at their home when they were released from the hospital or in hospice care at home, etc. all the time! One story centered around a very ill little girl that she corresponded with for years by phone and letter, and visited when she could! It was an amazing thing to hear and read...and I wish an author would write a book or a producer would make a documentary like the small clips we saw that brought all of those people and families together to share these experiences. I'm not saying she was a Saint, BUT with all the negative press she has received from horrible unauthorized books and movies. We NEED to focus on these positive deeds that humankind does without reward so that others will contribute...I see that missing in the kids I teach today.

Classy indeed...in the US, they would catch the tears flowing at every opportunity.

Let me just say, that if ya'll haven't visited Althorp before...IT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOME I HAVE EVER SEEN! I enjoyed it far more than any other castles or landmarks I have visited in my travels. However, I am partial to any link to Princess Diana...

I did say he sang well. There were others that looked worse than Ferry I agree - Tom Jones and Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) definitely could have done with less lighting .

I had a problem w/ Bryan Ferry's sequined lounge singer jacket. TACKY! Especially while the sun was still up!

Roger could use some Crest White Strips.

I still think Tom Jones looked and sounded great!

Actually, it's funny, I thought the opposite...he looked rather good, but a little unsteady on his feet, I was a bit concerned he'd have a heart attack!!
He was however the one who finally got the crowd going with "work together" and he set it up nicely for Rod and the rest who followed after.(oops, still can't get my quotes working properly...)

Ha ha. I turned on the tv and had my morning coffee watching him sing some of my favorite songs. It made my day.

"Give a Little Bit" was one of the first songs I learned how to play on the guitar. Amazing how well the lyrics remain so relevant in today's world - I liked how he introduced it.

That's the true sign of a good writer, I think.
