Talking Christine sings Rhiannon

This was from the Rumours Tour Rehearsals, I believe.... This is sooo funny, especially when she's like, "dreams unwind, da da da, et cetera, et cetera" (sp?)

I'm having a hard time deciding which is worse: Christine singing "Rhiannon" or Stevie singing "Don't Stop." Though "Rhiannon" is forgivable, since nobody paid to hear it...

Thanks for this. How bizarre! All appears to go decently until she attempts those high notes out of her range. But, I still don't mind this. Honestly, it is miles better than Stevie's "Welcome to the Room Sara" demo, which is posted currently in the Rumors room.

Years ago, I heard a Mirage rehearsal with Christine singing "Gypsy." That was truly awful in every sense.

I've heard this before and it is truly dreadful.

I think it was recorded at a rehersal so someone had to do the lead vocal.

the etc etc bit though is very funny

I think she did this in rehearsal because Stevie wasn't there & the band wanted to run through some songs in their setlist. She also did "Dreams", "Gold Dust Woman" and she & Lindsey even did "Landslide".

It's obvious that this was a rehearsal tape, not meant for public consumption, and therefore no attempt was made to do the vocal 'correctly.' If Christine were really going to perform "Rhiannon" they'd probably change the key to put it more into her vocal range, AND she'd learn the words.

I wonder how this tape escaped out of the recording studio. Any speculation?

As for Stevie singing "Don't Stop," FM has always performed songs by former members ("Oh Well" by Peter Green, "Hypnotized" by Bob Welch, "Station Man" by Danny Kirwan) so I think it's okay. Better that than to ignore all the songs Christine contributed to FM over the years. I don't have to hear it since I have no interest in seeing the Buckingham/Nicks version of the band.

I saw the Buckingham/Nicks version live twice (the second time because I believed a rumour circulating that Christine would be on stage with them - God I can be stupid at times).

I thought they were OK and I would even say good apart from the fact that they played three REALLY LONG songs, Come, I'm so Afraid and World Turning.

Hasn't World Turning passed its sell by date yet? And all that nonsense from Lindsey on Come is just embarassing.

To cap it all Stevie got the words to Don't Stop wrong on both occasions, although the second time she may have been put off by Christine being in the audience.

If they ever decide to do You Make Lovin Fun without Christine that would just about put the tin lid on it. It would cause me unimaginable pain.

Some songs by former members are OK to perform but it needs to be carefully thought out. We've all heard Christine doing Rhiannon and Dreams at a rehersal so we know what can go wrong.

Yeah, but look at the beating Bekka got for singing "Gold Dust Woman." Funny, people had no issue with Lindsey singing Bob Welch's signature song, but were about lynch somebody because Bekka sang "Gold Dust Woman." Personally, I don't have an issue with any of it. It's just rock music. But, it is funny how badly they can do it sometimes.

i got a kick out of this. it was a good ending to a bad day
i dont think it is really that bad actually. if she sang it without mumbling it would be miles better. but because its chris, it can be pulled off.

oh, and if i ever have to hear 'world turning' without chris again AKA lindseys Under the Skin tour, my ears just might bleed

oh, and this is going on my ipod
BTW, anyone have an mp3 of lindsey doing 'hypnotized'??? i found 'station man' on veoh.com, and ive heard the dont stop horror, but never hypnotized, i always end up with the bob welch version

Here's Lindsey singing "Hypnotized". This is from the 1975 Trodd Nossel Studio bootleg.

Thanks! I'm sure I have the CD somewhere in that pigsty known as my bedroom (LOL), but not on my computer yet....

And thanks again for being so generous! It was actually you (and a couple other FM fans, I can't remember who offhand ) who inspired me to pass along some files myself.
