i am a HUGE believer in owning my sadness. when i am sad, i put on the saddest music i own, and just let my heart break off piece by piece. my best friend actually calls and threatens to come over and take my ipod away.

the best for helping to rip out your heart:

Goodbye - Patty Griffin: oh my lord. "today my heart is big and sore. it's trying to push right through my skin"

Top of the World - also Patty Griffin

Sanvean - Dead can Dance

Maybe Not - Cat Power

We All Lose One Another - Jason Collett

Factory - Martha Wainwright

Breathe Me - Sia

oh. i hear ya. i have to say patty is all about the agony for me. i don't even really know her less depressing music. i'm not sure i need to. patty fuels my pain, and i love her for it.

Amen. I try to listen to upbeat music. When I was younger I was into the more sorrowful aspect of songs.
