I think I have the right to be after 2 years of the same set list. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing I want more than a few new songs, but there have been so many of these nights and they have all been disppointing.

Disclaimer: I've been unable to log in for almost all of March and April and some of May, so I have lots of set list thoughts I've wanted to get off my chest this whole time. So don't be afraid to read this really long post.

Am I the only one who doesn't want her to do Tallk To Me? It's not anywhere near one of my favorite songs. And hell, you guys talk about it, like it's some huge rarity. It's technically going by the billboard chart, her biggest non-duet hit. Stand Back only hit #5 while Talk To Me hit #4. Everyone talks about Stevie not taking chances. Well to me, her not doing Talk To Me, Rooms On Fire, Leather and Lace (when DH's not there) If Anyone Falls (on a regular basis) I Can't Wait or Whole Lotta Trouble is awseome. In fact the only solo "hits" she does regularly are Edge of 17, Stand Back and Stop Dragging My Heart Around (and thats only if Waddy's there) so really the famous line here of "well she only caters to casual fans, not diehards." well really she caters to no one, she does Her favorite and for the most part Best songs. Really she caters to herself. Look at her standards:
Outside the Rain has been done on every single tour only ever being dropped for most of TISL and at a recent Vegas show. That song is obscure, but we can mostly agree by far one of her best songs. Sure its on her best sellign album, but its not like Rumours where every album track is a hti without being a single. OTR is not a radio song like GDW The Chain and SHN. I thought it was great on the 2005 tour. Really Dreams is pointless with OTR behind it. The great thing about this song for me is if it's on the new set list I'll be thrilled to get to see it again, but if its dropped I'll still be excited that it makes room for a different song.
Fall From Grace and Sorcerer Granted everyVegas show you guys go to and report that these two songs are done doesnt surprise me now, in fact we all expect these now, back in May 2005 were any of us sure that Stevie would be doing TISL songs after the album less then a smash? I think it's great she'd playing these 2 songs from her last album, and they are by far the 2 best live from that album. Both are in the top 5 best songs she does on tour now. The other songs from TISL she did live don't even come close to coming out as good. So again these songs are the same boat as OTR for me. I think maybe one should be dropped and the other could be switched in at times. But again I'll have no problem with both coming back. I think FFG would be in more danger since its not on Crystal Visions.
Enchanted This is another non hit she clings on to. The great thing about this song is it was never done back in the day, not even on the Wild Heart Tour, she just pulled it out of thin air after naming her box set Enchanted. And then it was cool she kept it for TISL, since that was promoting a new album and she kept this rarity. But this is one of her staples that I feel has run its course. It serves no purpose and NEEDS to be dropped. Again I love that her staples are non hits but really I want you all to answer me on this, has ANYONE ever come home from a Stevie show and said "MAN Enchanted was GREAT tonight it was a real highlight I've never said that and I've never read that in a Ledgie review. So to me this is the one no brainer. Enchanted needs to be dropped to make room for something new. There is hope, she dropped this song aduring her 2006 Austrailian tour.
I Need To Know and Rock and Roll not on most of the Gold Dust Tour to make room for Rock and Roll although they are sometimes done simultainiously. I was lucky enough to see both in Cleveland, before she made the worst move ever added Landslide back to her solo set. Not her song, I Need To Know, and I know many don't like that, but I say "who cares" it ROCKS so much, she kicks the **** out of it. She did in Cleveland 05 and even moreso with Petty. I'm glad it was back for Vegas 07, but its in the same camp as OTR, I'd love it to stay, but it could be dropped for one of her own and thats great too. RNR on the other hand while it was a great suprise at first, and Im glad shes doing it, but I prefer I Need To KNow and would kind of like her to just move INTK back into the encore spot, but really she fallen in love with this song so much, I dont think it will ever be dropped.
Beauty and the Beast, If Anyone Falls, How Still My Love and HAEWAFY I group these four songs together because I don't want to call them staples really. Flashback to May 05, BATB had not been done in 15 years. So it was a shock that it was done. More then the fact that it was done was Where it was done. It dethroned the song that had been the last song for 20 straight years (except for 91) In fact we need to give Mama props for changing her encore for the first time in a decade. While its great she brought a song out not done in 15 years, I personally would love to see this dropped. And I have great hope since its not on CV. Now the song it replaced HAEWAFY is a song I don't think any of us thought could ever leave, it was as stuck as Edge. But she has proven willing to remove it occasionally from the set, and while I love it a lot more then BATB, I could definatly see it stay gone. Now can someone please explain the signifigance behind How Still My Love and If Anyone Falls (I refure to give into name changing pressure!) being done only in Vegas. I dont't get what about those two songs being done at the same time makes Stevie think "only in Vegas" How Still My Love is in the same boat as OTR as being done on every 80's tour in place of a solo hit just for being an incredible album track. It was done again for SA a few times, and then she gave it to us as a suprise in May of 05, and its been done in every Vegas shows but not anywhere else, other then maybe one show in Arizona but I could be wrong. Now from the bootlegs I've seen, its not been that good recently like I think OTR has been. But I think if it was done on the CV tour it would get better as the tour went on. She needs to do it night after night for her to get good at it again. Now If Anyone Falls gets out a little more then HSML. She actually does it in Vegas, Austailia AND Florida This ones got to be a shoe in for the CV tour, since it's already a semi regular and now it's on CV twice/ I would bet my lung on it beign done at every show this tour.

The point of this thread was pretty much just to say that Stevie has kind of shook things up. She's been on the same tour from May 2005 until tomorrow. It's been the Tour out of thin air tour. And lets look at what she's done. She's pulled covers out her ass (Circle Dance, Rock and Roll, So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star) kept her two best live TISL tracks, changed her encore for the first time in over a decade and the best thing she did the past 2 years was the Tom Petty tour. Go rewatch the Gainsville footage and tell me thats not the most energetic and best vocally shes been in the longest freaking time. Really I just watched SDMHA from the HBO show in 81 today, and its great but I think the Gainsville version with Petty is better. And who would've thought we'd hear Insider live agian. Granted I don't that version comes close to touching the pack up the plantation version but just that it was done. And really to me more importantly then WHAT she plays is HOW she performs what she plays. And to me her level of energy and vocals have been consistantly really good to great to PHENOMINAL on the Petty Tour (Im shocked she wasnt paid for those either) Definatly way better then SYW which was already WAY better then the TISL tour. Seriously guys I've seen a few TISL performances on YouTube and she's awful. Even Stand Back had no energy and that is at least almost always full of energy. Really watch I think Atlanta September 22, 2001 and compare it any recent performances. Granted I found it EXTREMELY odd that she took the time to completely change her order for the last stint in Vegas without rehearsing a single new song. I find it kind of hilarious and at the same time it makes me want to find her psychiatric help But still I maintain that it's still the same basic Dreams/Gold Dust/Thin Air tour. My praise for her tonight will be erased tomorrow night if she doesnt add SOMETHING new. Like I said up until now its been the same tour, so I'll excuse her for not adding new songs, but tomorrow starts the Crystal Visions Tour.

^^^ I glazed over what you said. Prolly agreed 50% and disagreed 50%. All I know is, that I am on my way tomorrow, and actually getting very excited.

I think that the anti-ness of several readers over SN's set list is plenty of us go nuts seeing her multiple times @ a show. This go round after the last I was like"I'm done w/ SN." Seen it all before, heard it all before, but the fact of the matter is, each time she comes around, I am a sucker for my NicksFix..pardon the pun. Am I bummed that ticket costs get higher and what I pay for I heard almost verbatum 6 months ago? Yup! Am I a Stevie nerd, than when it comes down to realistics, I am gonna shell potentially $600+ to see her and that's before the merchandise and traveling costs???

Everyone have fun tomorrow onward, and though seems ya'll have your setlist/merch folk, I'll post what I can upon my return <3

I don't think there's a single person here who disagrees with you on this.

Speaking of which - wasn't that the show where La Nicks went ape shiitte during a solo dance in the strobe lights? Does anyone have a video of that they'd like to post?
