Default Mmmmm... smells so good...

so what scents make you happy? give you comfort? make you swoon? the obvious and the not so obvious... (see my list below)

i was thinking about this as i was walking home this afternoon. there is a wholesale pastry shop/factory on the corner of my street, and when they are baking, an entire three block radius is enveloped in the sweet smell of baking bread and cake. it's heaven.

add to that the blooming trees on my street (not sure what kind they are), and well, i could sit outside and breathe deeply for hours (and i live right in downtown smoggy toronto!).

other scents i love:

- vanilla

- H2O coconut hand cream - reminds me of the beach

- pout lip gloss. yummy.

- rubbing alcohol (yes, really)

- the sweet smell of my dog. she has a smell to her that i find so, so comforting. impossible to describe, but it's her, and it gives me great comfort.

i'm sure there are more....

I love the smell of the beach (ocean, salt air), babies, coffee, onions and garlic cooking (really), almost all Aveda products, peppermint...I'm sure there are others that I can't think of right now. I'm really sensitive to smell.

Fresh cut tuberose...gardenia...vanilla...sandalwood incense...

If you've ever been to the Mirage and Treasure Island Hotels in Las Vegas, they scent their air with a combination of the above scents and it's heaven.

Oh yes, I do like that...unless you're in a urine soaked city in which the rain only brings out the smell of urine, that I'm not a fan of

The Beach smells really good. I also love the smell of Food. This is a little embarassing, but I like the smell of new books.
