the 4th weekend in April my town transforms itself into a snapshot in time, with plays, food, events, parade, and re-inactments. Its called Gold Nugget Days and it commemorates the discovery of the 54 lb solid gold nugget (the largest in North America)....it was immortalized in Huel Howser's California's Gold series, and in the past, some Hollywood notables were present--most important, Iron Eyes Cody, the "crying Indian" (of 70's anti-litter commercial fame)....

I can hardly wait!!!
