Her performance was better than I expected. She moved around on those platform heels. Her voice sounds good and she is not straining it. I could have been spared the leather biker gloves. And the local news cut off the ending credits to Ellen so Landslide was chopped.

Hear, hear!

I thought the drums sounded excellent too. Real crackin'. Not usually the case on teevee.

I just sent a comment into Ellen's show expressing my disappointment of no 'couch time' with Stevie or Lindsey. Wonder if they will read it??
Has anyone else sent anything in? Maybe if we get enough comments she'll interview them next time! (Who knows when that will be though!)

To these ears, she is singing SB in a higher key.

My co-worker watched it with me and thought she sounded bad. I explained that she's much better in concert, with her fans as the audience.
Maybe Stevie should go back to taking that shot of tequila before a performance. Poor thing.

Yeah, not great for me. I liked some of the new vocals on Stand Back but didn't like some others. Can't think of specific examples right now. She did nail the high "taaaaaaaaakkke me hooome" though - awesome.

Landslide was nice. It could be great if Jana would stfu.

I adore that and she did it just like the old days. A low squat with her legs showing. Booyaa! Go Stevie. I liked the little vocal inflections and ad libs during SB...esp the "aah, ahhs" instead of "ooh ooh". She did lots of little hand gestures for the "first he took my hand" and stuff like that. Landslide sounded lovely but when that damn American Airlines plane showed up on the tv, I was so pissed.

BTW..... Lori rocks my world. I have missed her so much and she adds so much to Stand Back. Jana is really not needed anymore and she tends to over sing and screech. I adore Sharon and Lori and am so glad Lori is back for this summer's tour. It was pretty cute when she caught a glimpse of the camera man during SB and she snickered. She looks and sounds fantastic!
I am not a fan of current Stevie squatting. It doesn't look like she's really putting all she's got into the song - it looks like she has to poop.

I was so happy to see Lori too. Jana - ugh. Loved Stevie's boots, still hating that mid-length skirt (should be either a tad longer or a tad shorter, IMO.) Love the return of those tassled sleeves, but not sure about those gloves. I think they're hot by themselves, but didn't love them with the rest of the outfit.

It is almost like she just does it out of habit.
I saw it. Cute.

BTW - The musical guest on Ellen almost always gets their second tune cut off. Not sure why.

it was almost as if she was shouting/belting out Stand Back instead of singing...I dunno guys, I watched it a couple times and I dont think I am a fan of that performance. blasphemy, I know...

as for the LASSO MOVE... Ellen doesnt come on til 3pm here and Sara called me and yelled "Stevie is going to play Say You Will on Ellen!" and I said noooo she is playing SB and Landslide...and she said "Well she must be doing the SYW 'dances' in Stand Back now!" , I guess the preview they showed right before the show came on had her singing the moment of the lasso or something...I thought it was hilarious!

finally saw it on youtube (thanks, sandymac) ... i expected the beginning of stand back to be way worse than it was after reading everyone's comments, so i was pleasantly surprised. i missed the rest of the show - if there was only one other guest, why didn't ellen sit down with stevie? lame.

I agree with your statement. It just felt like she was a little off at the beginning. Nothing earth shattering though...she still did her thang!!

I thought that was a great performance! I just watched it on youtube! I loved it when she did the squat thing!

Overall: I thought it was great and had good energy.

I almost creamed myself when Stevie came out in black, singing Stand Back!

WOW! My favourite actor and my favourite singer were in the same Ellen Episode?!? I hope they talked.

Anyway, about Stevie, I think her performance was great. I'm not the greatest Stand Back fan (yeah, I know, it's an outrage but its 80's feel is a bit unnerving at times) but she gave a very nice rendition there. I also liked a lot Landslide, even If I've just realized that I don't like the refrain sung also by the vocalists. It's strange usually in concert it doesn't bother me. Maybe in the studio performance the audio wasn't mixed well.
