I think everyone is 100% entitled to their own feelings and opinions, and I certainly do NOT think I am a "better" fan or whatever, but sometimes it feels as though the negative threads outnumber the positive ones here. I remember how excited I was when I found this place- a place where there were other Stevie geeks like me! I know that some think that there are those of us that keep our expectations too low, but I will always be grateful that she is still doing her thing. Every time I see her on tour, I worry it could be her last. She's given me a lifetime (literally) of music and magic.
Of course we still love her..but she is not beyond reproach.

I sort of feel like you do. I play her music all the time & worry just how long she'll go on. I mean I worry about her health, all those years on drugs. Did it take its toll? At this point, I don't really care what her set list is. I just want to see her live as long as I can & as long as she can go on.

Maybe there should be a stable deluded fans thread, where they can meet, discuss of the great time they had in the Seventies and early Eighties, when they were young, so happy and Stevie was so great, try to understand who's buying all those CV copies, remember how great has been Lindsey instead publishing a new solo album after 14 years...

Ouch.

I can see both sides of the debate here, but I guess I have a "glass is half full" philosophy to life. I know Stevie is doing her nostalgia thing now, but hey, it is Greatest Hits tour and down the line, I bet we will get a new CD. Might take a while and we might have to wait a couple of years (not sure if there will be new FM material or not, doubt it, but 2008 hopefully will be more FM concerts) and maybe in 2009 or 2010, we will see a new CD from Stevie or some other new cool project she has tucked up her billowy sleeves. We all know Stevie tends to keep her future plans well guarded.

This is what she has chosen to do for her life and career, so maybe she needs this time to be nostalgic and time to really reflect and look back on her career to see where she has been and where she wants to go from here. Who here has not done that in some point in there lives? Maybe she is going through a mid life crisis of sorts, she is only human. Losing one's parent can easily make someone take stock of their lives and look at their own mortality.

Yes, when I see her in concert, I know the setlist and have heard the songs over and over again, but Stevie says herself there are certain songs she never gets tired of doing over and over because she loves them so much. There are certain songs I listen to over and over again myself because they are just that great. But I agree with JannieC that when Stevie comes out on stage, all my problems in the world fall away and I am in awe that she is standing there singing and all the magic and energy just surrounds her and flows out to the crowd and is quite overwhelming. For 1 1/2 - 2 hours, I am entertained and I have a good time and that is what Stevie loves to do... Entertain people and for the most part she does.

In closing, I again see both points to this discussion and value everyone's opinion, just wanted to state mine as to why I still support Stevie.

I agree. You guys clown me if you will, but I am in awe of Stevie. When I found her in 2003, I was just like.... AMAZED!!!!

Her music is just amazing. The poeticism the shear structure of it. It is very captivating, and SOOO right. I absolutely adore her.

I have never had the privilage to see her solo, so I am absolutely extatic that I will more than likely get that chance.

I think she will put out a new album in the future, we'll just have to wait, but it will happen.

Sadly, in some of these forums, it almost seems like the number of people that are completely captivated by Stevie are outnumbered by those that aren't. It is completely fine to have opinions, but I just wish someone like me could freely post about their fasination without being joked on.....

Anyway, Much Love,
Ethan

I don't quite get it .If we older fans were that stuck in a time warp then we should be delighted to hear the old classics over and over again rather then expect anything new? It's true that alot of the casual boomer fans want just that and that is whom she seems to be focused on but some of us know that she is capable of more than that.Does that make us delusional?

I think this reference was made toward those of us those don't really see it necessary to get so upset over Stevie being "stale and stagnant".

And for the record, I do get frustrated over certain things she does (and understand everyone's right to their own opinions as well), I just felt as though the complaints seem to outweigh the happiness here in the Stevie fan forum.

Mine was a provocation, and I don't think provocations need to be explained but you're making a polite question so I answer.

I'm not expressing a judgement on baby boomers in general (that would be easy, btw), and I was not referring especially to them, but to all those who keep watching Stevie Nicks comparing her to what she was in the past, or using her as a mirror to what they were in the past. We all change and she changed too, I just think her choices deserve the same respect we want for ours.

I personally stopped caring years ago.
The point that myself and others were making is:
She is stale and stagant because she has not changed!
