Default Barry Gibb is Hotter than Paul McCartney

Paul is okay but Barry is hotter and plus Barry has a beautiful wife, Linda whose been happily married to him since 1970. Guess those British musicians love the name Linda

No. I am not kidding. I'm old enough to have grown up with both of these musicians in my life. When I compare what they have both accomplished in their personal and musical life then I know I am right.

If Paul wasn't a Beatle, he wouldn't be famous or highly revered. Weird Al could have been a Beatle and women and some men would swoon over him too

if barry gibb wasn't a beegee he wouldn't be famous either and no one would give a **** about his songs. what's your point? ringo was famous cause he was in the biggest band ever. paul is famous because he was half the reason they were the biggest band ever. weird al or anyone else couldn't have beenin pauls shoes because before there was mtv it was the radio that made them famous and pauls and john's songwriting is what did it. if you think that just anybody could replace paul no matter what there songwriting and performing ability was then you have a screw loose.

you know your right that barry gibb is better than paul mccartney cause you're older than me? no you definately have a screw loose. paul wins cause talent is so sexy.

Count me in on the Barry Gibb team! oh YEAH! Considering how his brothers went all chrome dome, its a miracle he has any hair! But in his heyday..What HAIR! That man was so HAWT!

And, he is talented too, although Fur Elise doesnt seem to think so...Im sure Barry is secretly crushed by that fact

nah he could write some good harmonies in his day but he aint got nothing on the penny lanes and the hundreds of other paul tunes. both his consistently catchy pop songs and his ones that pushed the music further like helter skelter and shes leaving home. he relied on more than just the fact that he could harmonize. but i didnt say that barry gibb couldn't write some good harmonies just paul relied on a lot more than that ability (and i don't mean the talent of having a cute face ). oh and if you bring lyrics into it would anyone argue that paul wins hands down.

i think he's the greatest living songwriter and just so adorable from this

to this

I beg to differ: the tunes To Love Somebody (covered by the great Janis Joplin), Holiday, I started a Joke, Massachusetts, Ive gotta get a message to you, I cant see nobody are at least as good as any of the early Beatles tunes. And Lonely Days was every bit as envelope pushing as anything from Sgt Pepper...and thats just from their EARLY stuff! Im not even counting their Disco years which they dominated quite handily. They even had further success with duets and writing tunes that other people covered. You obviously dont know anything about the BEE GEES or you wouldnt have said what you did.

Not only that, but Paul was only one HALF of a songwriting team. John Lennon had much pithier lyrics IMO. Paul's stuff was pretty smarmy much of the time whereas John was pointed, and intelligent and had something to SAY. I think if anything, Paul's melodies were nicer than Johns, but as for being a lyricist, I think he took a back seat to John by FAR.

Barry was the linchpin in the BEE GEES. Every song was a collaboration between the various brothers, but Barry was in every song. I'd say he more than holds his own against Paul.

the lennon/mccartney songwriting credit isn't really truthful though. the other one got credit regardless in most cases.. or at least all the one's i've read about or were talked about through the anthology. a lot of the songs were written solely by one or the other - lyrics and melody.

i like the bee gees. i like barry. i know they have quite a bit of history pre-disco. but i have to side with the argument that you can't really put 'em up to the beatles. i mean.. it's the beatles. they opened the door for a LOT of people.. early bee gees probably included.

i do know some things about the bee gees. You Don't Know What It's Like is called To Love Somebody and I started a Joke was mainly robin gibb's writing so what's that got to do with barry's talent? just reading this i think i actually even know more about them. i saw them in concert i'm not an idiot when it comes to then i just don't think they're anything compared to mccartney.

lonely days was as enevelope pushing as anything on sgt pepper?!!!!!! a day in the life? lucy in the sky with diamonds? fixing a hole? she's leaving home? being for the benefit of mr kite? within you without you? lovely rita? the kind of new sounds that came out of that album are so far above being compared to "lonely days lonely nights where would I be without my woman". maurice using one finger to hit a key. the tune is catchy but.......hello! those songs on sgt pepper pathed the way for music at that time they broke through new boundaries not lonely days by the bee gees.

john was far better at lyrics but its hard when your in a band with basically the greatest cause anything you do looks inferior. but look at his lyrics without thinking of johns, they are some great lyrics.

Eleanor rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from ?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong ?

Father mckenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working. darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Eleanor rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father mckenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

the arrangement and lyrics in that song had a mood far more intriguing than any beegees song i can think of

spicks and specks is my favourite bee gees song and i like ii started a joke but john AND PAUL'S collection of music and lyrics is so much more intellectual and experiment than barry's.

When you get a chance, here is a good look how they write a song as brothers when Maurice was still alive. Barry and Robin still write songs together and separately. Barry is usually the leader because he is the eldest brother and likes to be in charge in this video.

Go to Youtube.com or Veoh and find:

Bee Gees - Just in Case
