i agree with all of you about Jana, i think Sharon and Lori should go on the road with Stevie she doesnt really need 3 background singers... Jana has always bugged me for some reason, she reminds me of cheer leader/soccer mom/annoying sorority girl...

I think Sara Fleetwood and Lynne Mabrey were her best backup singers.

Better than Sharon and Lori? I do agree, Lynn was good. I also enjoyed Mindy on the Enchanted tour's After the Glitter Fades.

Yes, especially noticable when she was singing.

she looked great and Rhiannon had a lot of energy. I'm SO glad she didn't wear the Superbowl outfit that we've been seeing so much of lately!

My favorite combination of backing voices has always been Sharon, Lori & Marilyn Martin.

IMO Sharon and Lori are the best with Elesecia Wright, she was great. Jana could be a great solo performer (I haven't heard her solo) but I wish she wouldn't do background for Stevie. During the performance today something was totally "off" and it was her. Sorry, Jana.

I taped it this morning & watched it tonight. I think she looked kind of tired. Maybe she had a little jet lag. Landslide was OK. Rhiannon was kind of shakey in the beginning, but about halfway, she snapped out of it, had a little more energy. I know it was a little chilly in NY, but I think she would have had a little more energy if she would have played to a crowd. Everytime I see her in singing in a studio, she seems out of it. Her playing to a crowd seems to make her come to life, JMO. And she really does need a trim. When she was singing Landslide & said "I'm getting older, too", my husband said, "Yeah, and you need a haircut!" Other than that, she looked pretty good.

Would anyone be willing to make a dvd up for me of Stevie's recent tv performances such as the CBS Early interview, the Today Show and the Superbowl? I don't really have anything to trade but I'm willing to pay for it. If anyone can help, please send me a message.
Cheers, Phil

i actually thought the first screech was a mistake.

then she did it again.

i really thought the backup vocals ruined landslide. stevie's voice sounded good - and for me, the mood was killed when the girls jumped in.

my favourite moment: meredith exclaiming, "i LOVE you!!" and stevie looking at her like, "ooooh. ok, i get it. you're the freak around here," and totally ignoring her. and anyone else see the body language when meredith put her arm around her? tee hee.

(oh, did i mention - i'm not so much a meredith fan)

i always favour more talk and less singing on shows like this, i must say. the energy of a live studio performance is always lacking; i'd much prefer they use the time to chat about things we may not know.

Yea, that was a really funny moment. Meredeth seemed really star struck when she was standing next to Stevie...I think she's a genuine Stevie fan, and it showed. Both Matt and Meredeth love her and i think that's great!
