It's terrible, but I actually held my class in a chatroom today so we didn't miss too many classes (hey, I gave them Monday off). As such I was stuck online when I should be having a heck of a lot more fun! Believe me, now that class is over, I intend on having some fun... as soon as Kristin and Tiff finish their naps.

What can I say. We're not wild women!

P.S. I'm also holding chat class for my business writing class tomorrow.... which meets at 7:30 am EST.... 4:30 am here. I hope I'm sober enough to type straight.

P.P.S. About my luck in Vegas... and other things....

Just a few added comments from last night. I agree with Nancy and Kelly - her vocals were brilliant and noticeably so. After all these years I finally got to experience the edge walk. She grabbed both of my hands and looked me in the eyes and said thank you. To me? Now that I've experienced it I no longer have the need to sit in the front row. It's too close and sitting amongst the casino freebie crowd was boring.

No need to debate on a sell out. I haven't read every post so not sure if it was mentioned but the entire upper level was empty. I watched as people entered and they had staff upgrading seats to those seated in a section other than the lowest level. I guess blah would be the best description of the crowd as a whole. It was so different from the first time she was at Ceasar's. There were the usual fans but for the most part I think the crowd was made up of people just wanting to see a show and not caring who it was.

In a way I got excited when Stand Back was first because I was sure she would have added new songs to the setlist. Even though she didn't, it was a great show and I'll still go see her on this summer's tour. The security guard told me before Edge that the order of the setlist had changed from the printed copy they were given.

As for the t-shirts. great if you were a lady but the only men's shirt that I saw was the Dreams Vegas shirt with the new dates. And no tourbooks - just Teddy bears

Well maybe **** was a bad word to use. Rock and Roll doesn't really excite me anymore. How Still my Love is a mood song for me. Its just sad knowing there are so many other songs she could be doing from her own collection.

Cool Hehehe...

I felt the need to laugh today, so I think it's time to rename Stevie's song in the Vegas setlist:

New Intro ("Earache My Eye"-Alice Bowie)
Stand Back (Same ol setlist alert)
Goldust Vegas Casino Woman
If Anyone Falls for Me Changing Up the Setlist
Stop Dragging this Song Around In a Different Key
Dreams of a Different Setlist Nightly
Enchanted with the Same ol' Same ol'
Rhiannon (Birds of a Feather Flock Together)
I Need to Know If I Can Do a Different Song
Landslide of the Apparent Hits
Sorcerer Make those Ledgies Gimme their $$$$
Fall From Originality
How Still My Love for the same ol' Setlist
Edge of Seventeen Songs Played on tour since 1983
-------------------------------
(Encore break to change Depends and count how much $$$ I made from the Vegas rubes)
Rock and Roll (Led Zep My Band Aint)
Beauty and the Tired ol' Beast

There, mission accomplished - Yet another thread killed

Ever since Stevie resurrected SDMHA back in Vegas 2005, she has been singing it in a much lower key. I believe she lowered it by a two whole steps, or even a third- but, I'll have to check on my piano later at home.

Thanks for this bit of info!

I don't want to wish anything ill upon Mama, but the fact that she is not selling out such a small theatre is telling. Mama brought this on herself- this is what she gets for not keeping things fresh for her audience- either by changing the set list or releasing new material. I hope it does make her a little bit concerned. I hope this sends home the message that she can't expect people to keep paying to see the same tired sh*t over and over again, especially when tickets cost $160 a pop. Money talks, as the old saying goes...

How can you resurrect something that never went away?

I believe the key was dropped starting way back on the TISL tour in 2001.

Curious, how many seats are there?

Wow, I'm getting old.

My memory was telling me that she opened Las Vegas with SDMHA and that's where I noticed the ridiculous key drop.

But, it was TISL. Jeezus, was that really SIX years ago!!!

I'm with you here!! Same songs, same outfits, same videos do not generate excitement and they certaintly don't generate revenue. That's just plain business sense. I never thought Stevie would be an entertainer who would "rest on her laurels" but...I believe it has happened. I do like the new order of the songs but that's not going to be enough to sell out venues.
