I played flute, too. And alto sax, as you know, the fingerings are the same. Alto sax was better, and while I was like, 4th chair flute, I could be first chair alto sax.

lol I was first chair flute for a little while. I doubt I could play a b flat scale right now if my life depended on it I haven't picked it up since graduation night

and i could never play a reed instrument. it grosses me out I had a clarinet friend, I would see her sucking her spit back up and I almost vomitted

Ohhh. I always asked to play my friend's clarinet, I loved it. That is really gross, actually. I don't think we sucked our spit back up, we just emptied the valve.

I'm not one of those freaky germ people like you and Paula.

I was angry at all that social class BS, but then again that was the mentality of the whole town (I remember when CBS' "48 Hours" did a story on the high murder rate in my hometown, which was higher than Washington DC & Compton, CA in the 90's - Still the highest in this state.). Muskogee has and will always be a racially and economically divided city - I saw that aspect since all my school friends were either black and/or poor.

My older brothers have the same exact opinion on that hell-hole of a school that I have - Geary was able to transfer out & graduated from El Reno while Bill simply dropped out.

Deb's former high school is directly across the highway from our house - She received another yearly reunion invite (This town has 1 reunion party for all grads - Bogus!!!) and again wont be paying $25 to meet up with people she attended school with, who WONT talk to her even when she sees them in town.

See, I kinda hated college. High school was sooo easy for me(and yes, I was taking college prep classes), that, 95% of the time, I could do-almost nothing-, and skate with B's. Getting all A's might've cut into the party schedule a little too much. College was SUCH a financial strain for me(I worked, sometimes TWO jobs, while attending full time), that I think that's the main reason I don't think fondly of college. I had to work my ASS off in college.

Please don't. I hate hearing all y'all bitch about things that normal people easily live and thrive through every day.

That is quite an accomplishment, though, you should be proud. It would be incredibly hard for me to work that much and do school.

I worked 2 jobs in college too, and went full time. I just don't like studying I've NEVER been one of those people who could skim by without cracking a book. I ALWAYS had to study my ass off, just to get by. But then later i went back to school and retook a lot of classes I had flunked out of Aced them ...so I dunno. It may have been my attitude

which is why as soon as I finished my 2 year Drafting/Civil Engineering degree (I had a headstart since I was already enrolled while the rest of the Senior class of '88 were still in high school. Btw, I received an Associates in Applied Science) I immediately enrolled in Tech.School for another degree program - Quality Control/Non-Destructive Testing (Associates in Applied Science - Minor in Mathematics)

I worked the whole time I attended college/Tech.School and had much more a good time than I ever did in high school. I paid all the loans off minus one - so I am happy to be financially free of that burden.

I really struggled in undergrad too, so I know the feeling. I went back to school when I was 28 and worked full time while being a full time student. It was really a nightmare. I actually love graduate school, though. It's like a whole new world- classes I actually enjoy and have interest in (except Research Methods, of course).

Actually, my immune system is probably stronger, going with the theory that I've been in contact with more germs. I know I rarely get sick. Like, once in 12 years rarely.

Wait...I thought my third eye was natural?

And please do not wish living longer upon me. *shudder*.

word. i am not a germophobe, i repeat, not a germophobe at all, and i've gotten sick once in the last year and a half. that was a cold that lasted like 3 days. the last time i got sick before that was when i started working in childcare, and that happens to everybody who works in childcare. those little ****ers are germ bubble machines.

yeah. I can't believe you worked with kids. Little brats.

Don't get me wrong, some stuff grosses me out, but not because it is germy, really, just cause it is gross. Spit grosses me out, now. Snot. But I'm not thinking about it unless it is right there, like if I have to see it. I understand that you can catch things from public places, and employ appropriate caution for the most part, but that's about as far as it goes.
