Happy St. Patty's Day! I'll be going to the local inn for CB&C and a nice GUINNESS!

My Aunts & Uncles on Dad's side of the family (Typical large Irish family - 7 boys & 3 girls) are products of the Irish/Cherokee union between MH & Malzerine Johnson (Granny was known as "Malzie"), but you cannot tell where the Cherokee went - they're also of white complection like me (My Dad was the only child of the Irish/Cherokee mix to show the more Cherokee traits - He was of a red complection).

The genealogy on the Johnson side of the family goes way back to Ireland (I cant recall the specific name of the area in Ireland, but it is located in modern day Northern Ireland) and beyond - So Happy St.Patrick's Day to all of Irish blood.
That's cool. I think I told you this before but my daughter's grandfather is 1/2 Cherokee. You can't really see it in her, just a little around the cheekbones/eyes but you can tell her father is part Cherokee. It's an interesting mix.

100% Irish born and bred.

I might go into Belfast with some friends, but since I hate clubs it's unlikely and they'll all be packed tonight.
I think I'm just going to have a few friends round and drink some of the very best whiskey ever distilled: Black Bush. This is THE Irish whiskey. Just great. Got to drink it straight though - I will fight anyone who dares to dilute/add ice to/add coke to Black Bush... It's a crime to ruin it like that.

It saddens me to know that the Irish live with strife like that...

One day, I hope to visit there. Its the only place I really want to travel to.

There's really not as much strife as people people think, not in the North anyway. I was on a holiday in Florida a few years ago and most people when they heard I was from Northern Ireland said "That must be aweful! Are there really burnt out cars all over the place?" True, there are certain areas of Belfast you shouldn't go wearing the wrong coloured t-shirt unless you want beat up, but it's all much better than it was a couple of decades ago. Any "strife" there is left is mostly from so many, many years of bigotry just being passed from generation to generation. 99% of the people who beat you up because you're a Catholic or Protestant have never been to church in their life of their own free will, so religion can't be that big a thing to them. It's just been bred in that they hate those "other people".

Now, for travelling... Ireland has got to be one of the best places for it. You could go all over the country and just have beautiful scenery the whole time. The lakes of Fermanagh are fantastic. Just rent a boat and go round them exploring all the places. Donegal is great as well. You can find any number of places with stunning scenery. Or you can go for a tour of Belfast in the back of polices wagon and see the secterian "culture"
