Q & A With Stevie...Las Vegas Sun

Just Seen this so I thought you would all enjoy.

I was off to go to sleep, but I had to read this Q & A. I liked the following question and answer the best:

"But you had some tough times, financially when you were just starting out."

"I was a cleaning lady, a waitress, which I enjoyed. Lindsey and I really had five years when we were, for all practical purposes, married. We had five years to really struggle and have a real life and become real people, so that we didn't get famous at like 18 like Bob Dylan. We actually had to be real, struggling, normal people for five years until the day we joined Fleetwood Mac and the band started paying us each $200 a week in cash and then, as soon as we went into rehearsal four weeks later, $400 a week in cash. I was finding $100 bills in pockets and in shoes and in clothes I had washed and I had to hang the money up to dry. It was hysterical."

The hanging money to dry part reminds me of the scenes from movies when someone is counterfeiting some $$$$

Did all you Europeans catch that Stevie's coming to Europe later in the year to do press for the album? Wonder if she'll do some shows.

And what are these three Florida shows after Vegas that she's talking about?

[skcin]

Cool interview! She mentioned the Petty shows at The Greek. Awwwwwww.

"a story about a lady and her goldfish."

I'm glad she realizes that she doesn't have all the time in the world left & had better get stuff done. Keep on going, mama!

Awesome - thanks for posting!

"So this package is a CD with 18 songs on it, songs from '81 to now."

I love how she says her year off "vacation" was with Tom Petty. I can't think of a better vacation.

First thing I noticed!

And at the end of summer we're going to Europe to do press for the record

I hope we get some more info on that fast, because if that's the case, I'm not flying out to NYC this summer.

So I called my manager and he goes, "This is your year off," and I'm like, "Well, I can't turn this down," and he goes "OK, but just remember at the end of the year when your year off is over your time off was Tom Petty. He was your vacation."

.......

So no. Everybody thinks I get all this rest but I don't. Tom Petty was my vacation, and it was the most fun I've ever had on the road. I loved it.

this is me playing my teeny tiny violin for stevie. womp woooomp.

I take back all the bitching I did about them postponing the European release if she's actually going to get her ass over here for once. But yeah, she said she was going to come to Europe during TISL promo also.

But with TISL, wasn't the plan to come over AFTER the summer tour, which would have been after 9/11? I could see why she never followed through with further plans, given that other artists were cancelling entire tours that fall.

Maybe she's afraid of all of your mastadons

I also noticed that she now says they are rehearsing for the Summer tour after Vegas and the 3 Florida shows. I thought I had read that she was rehearsing before Vegas. Now, I'm afraid we really will just be seeing the old Dreams setlist next week.

True, I wouldn't have blamed her if she had cancelled it, but nothing had even been in the works. If she was going to head to Europe after her American tour (which wasn't going to work because of SYW anyway) we would have at least have dates or official word before 9/11. European gigs usually get announced further ahead than dates in their home country. That's why I doubt she ever planned on coming.

Come to think of it, didn't she say it during Enchanted promo also?

Even if 9/11 had not happened I still don't think she would have come... There had been absolutely no promotion or anything. And she was lined up to get back in the studio with FM wasn't she?
