Very nice today! Sunny and around 64 degrees. I officially packed away my winter coat last night. Let's hope I didn't jinx it.

Default So Unfair!

.....it's 10.30pm here - and outside it's minus 21C. No evidence here of global warming whatsoever. Is it only me that's somewhere cold?

I have a friend up in Finland and it's -2 C there today. That's definitely colder than where I am, but still warmer where you are.

Of course it is - you probably sucked it dry within 3 days.

It's sunny & in the mid-50's here today. Gorgeous. I'll definitely be going out to run errand on my lunch hour today.

Mich - Thanks for the welcome.

I probably should have introduced myself first before I started posting. I’ve read the Boards for a long while now but only recently had a satellite link to let me post. We don’t have broadband!!

I work for the Chinese State Oil Company and spend time in Russia producing oil for sale to China. I have worked here in the (very frozen) East Siberian Sea for seven years now. I arrive when the Arctic winter begins and the sea freezes, to determine what type of oil and gas is under the sea bed. When the sea melts I go home and let them drill for the oil we‘ve found. So I work a 7 month stretch here and then get 5 months holiday.

Home is really Holland Park in West London but I tend to spend a couple of months in California as my brother lives in Monterey.

But getting back to the weather thread - it’s -37C at the moment and there’s not a cloud in the sky!

Take Care

Stew

Yeah - I can't wait to get home. London is the best place in the world IMO! Will be back in April after a quick stop in Colorado to see Lindsey.
