Go to her myspace and check out the interview videos. She's hilarious!

Interviewer: You're like an old Jewish man when you give your opinion on music?

Amy: Yeah - Oh, The Killers? Nice looking boys...and the kids seem to love them.

Doesn't translate well here, you have to watch it, but I cracked up.

The Bravery @ the Bat Bar (SXSW television taping)
Amy Winehouse @ Eternal
Albert Hammond, Jr @ The Blender Bar At The Ritz
The Watson Twins @ Central Presbyterian Church
Amy Winehouse @ La Zona Rosa (I know - 2 times. But Im diggin' her right now)
The Good, The Bad & Helen Mirren @ Stubbs
The Pipettes @ Cedar Street
Sloan @ Red Seven
Johnette Napolitano @ 18th Floor Hilton
Charlie Sexton @ Antones
Gore Gore Girls @ Continental Club

And that's not even counting the day shows...

good list. i'm pretty jealous of you austin folks -- this is a really amazing sxsw year

Livia · #53 03-08-2007, 10:14 PM

Charlie's playing a day show w/ some really cool people - I'll dig it up again and email you.

Marissa, I totally dig Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos - but everything else I'm doing that night is on the same side of town. They are playing lots of day parties. What sucks about the day parties is that a lot of them don't publish set times - you just gotta show up and hope your timing's good for whoever....

Did I mention that Willie Nelson is receiving an award at the High Times party? Some friends of ours, Hellapeno (fyi Brian - David Derrick's new band) are playing at 4. So, I should still be there at 4:20.

Last year, they did a 4:20 countdown, like it was New Year's Eve.

Yeah, Charlie is playing with Augie Meyers and Speedy Sparks! It will be like the old days! Maybe Will will show up! It's Friday 7pm at Opal Divines.
I think that would be a great time!

Cant wait to see Hellapeno and be there at 4:20! LOL Gonna be fun!

Of course it's Friday! The ONE day w/ ALL the sassy daytime parties. Ay caramba! It's on my list - same time as The Watson Twins are doing their SXSW Live! Show. Grrr....

rbs3676 · #56 03-08-2007, 10:41 PM

You dont wanna see the Watson Twins in a church?!??
The very first time I heard about this I KNEW that I was there.

I might even kneel...

No - because I've got Afterhours, AND the Vacancies w/ Joan Jett at the same time that night. I've got the Watson Twins penciled-in for 2 or 3 day shows and another night show. It won't break my heart if I don't see them at all. Most likely, I'll catch the end of their set at Cedar St. right after Charles Wright at Antone's.

Livia · #60 03-08-2007, 11:05 PM

I know you love Joan, and why aren't you gonna see her? You're being all flippy-floppy about that one....It's her ONLY gig - The Watson Twins have like 5 or 6 - I know the church thing sounds cool - but you DO have other options.
