That ****ing spider is back. I thought it had left. Seriously, it's HUGE. I can't get anything accomplished at work as long as it's staring at me. I need to find someone that's going to kill it for me.

trying to decide if I should give my 2 week notice and take my 2 week check plus back check and go...without having another job.

I just can't take it anymore.

Can you go back to the place you worked before? You liked that place didn't you?

I did, but (and this was one of the reasons I left) there is not a lot of work there. the litigation they practice (or at least what brought the bucks in) has been effected by tort reform so I'm not even sure they'd have a position for me, much less be able to pay me.

but I'm still considering asking anyway.

I almost told them to f*ck off today. I swear. I was so close. I cried instead.

(((((hugs)))))

don't walk out. it feels great at the time, but it is much harder to find a job when you don't have one. keep on truckin'. do you have any vacation time you can use to take a breather and look for a new job?

I know. you're right.

I have 100 hrs PTO (cause I never take off). and I should use it. thing is, we're getting into trial mode with lots of deadlines and crap so I know they'd either refuse my request for time off or write something in my file for taking time off during trial mode. but I may do it anyway. I'm really flirting with the idea of calling my old job.

Jazzie, I've been there, done that. Last October I was stuck at the most horrible job ever. I did do like you wanted and just told them to **** off and walked out. I lucked out in that I found a great job a few weeks after that, but that's usually not the case. So no matter how much you'd like to walk away now, think about the bills that will be piling up in no time. I agree with Carrie, can't you take some time off and start looking for a new job without actually quitting the one you're at right now?

that may be the best choice - didn't you like it there? you said it was less money, but you had seniority and respect, right?

Yup, and it was the worst timing ever, since I was going to the States in Oct for Lindsey's shows. Thank God I have the greatest dad in the world though.

But I hear you, it was horrible. I've always had enough money to get by ever since I moved out of my dad's house 3 years ago. I have a little more than enough these days, which is why I can travel to Vegas in March, but during those few months that I didn't have anything...yuck. I've never had to make so many phone calls to bill collectors or carefully calculate what groceries I could afford. We've been poor in the past when I was a kid, but ofcourse you don't really realize what poor means until you are the responsible party of all of a sudden. Gave me many sleepless nights.

I'm sorry. I know how you feel. I lost a $5000 commission last week due to a fraudulent realtor. And all I can do is report his ass to the real estate commission.
You're such a creative person, I think it's really hard for people like that to do a 9-5 that doesn't really inspire them. I feel for you. I really do.

Jazmen, you would have liked the party. The percentage of hot guys was pretty sky high. Some attitude, but most people there to have a good time and lots of smiles. Most people gave the finger to the black tie dress code and wore dark suits like I did.

There were a handful of messes, like one guy who wore a tux with no shirt. Just the jacket and bow tie. Please.....

Martha Wash went through the motions. She opened by screaming "Everybody Dance Now" over and over for about 10 minutes. Then she sang "Everybody Everybody" and closed by talking her way through "It's Raining Men". She can't really hit notes anymore, so he has the audiences sing the hard parts.

thanks. I know. I have a standing policy that no one talks to me like I'm not a human and I can go in debt up to my ass before I allow someone to disrespect me. I work too hard and am too educated/experienced for that. but you're right. I need to really calm down and have a plan first.

thanks. and you're right. I want to really enjoy what I do and I just don't anymore. especially not enough to endure bull****.

sweet. that would've been fun!

sad that Ms. Wash is a no note hitter. that really upsets me. she has/had a voice like no other.

This fricking sucks. Don't walk out. I agree with the other people and just start looking. It's so hard making the decision to find another one, because what if it's worse than what you have now?? But if you're already completely miserable, I don't see how it can be worse. Try not to burn any bridges if you can help it-you never know what you may need from them in the future even if it's just a reference. Give yourself a few days to calm down with whatever has happened today and then go about it the right way. If you can't have your old job back, I'm sure there are other places to work. Would you consider moving?? Anyway, even if in a few days, things are fine, I would still consider changing jobs. I remember when I was having my probs with work and you replied , you were unhappy then. So apparently it's not going to get better. Apparently they are fvcking dumbasses, and apparently you are way too fabulous to have to put up with that crap. Best of luck to you and I'll be thinking about you.
