spit or swallow?

when you try a new food and you realize it tastes nasty, what do you do? spit it out or swallow it?

usually i just swallow it. but this one time i had a pickled gooseberry and i couldn't stop the immediate visceral reaction to spit it out.

It depends on how nasty it is. If it's just mildly gross, I'll eat it. If it's terribly gross, that ****'s going in the nearest napkin!

haha. well, i was eating dinner at my friend's house, and she's indian. so it wasn't "american" food. and trust me, i didn't eat it.

Oh if it's nasty, I'll spit it right out. Now, I'll do it nice and ladylike into a napkin or something, but I don't need to waste the calories on something that tastes like ass...so I'm a spitter.

Sure, blame A. Usually I just... suck it up and swallow. Unless it's overpowering, then across the table, out the window, and into the neighbours pool it goes.

Oh - and I guess I lied about being ladylike - I just remembered an instance in New York City..I was at this amazing cafe, and they had some dessert samples out - so I tried a piece.

It tasted like Clancy smells. It was nasty...now I love my moo,and don't mind her dog stink but I don't want it in my mouth...

I made a production of that and spit it out into the nearest trash can.

I chose projectile vomit. And here's why!

I'm a very particular eater. (Textures, looks, one thing at a time, and mismatched things don't touch.) I'm not so picky that I have a hard time finding something when I go out, but I'm not adventurous either. But there are many times that my family.. and sometimes friends.. will make me try something.

I'm all about table manners and all that.. but if somebody forces me to try something that I think has the potential to be nasty - and it is? - i'm definitely spitting that **** out ASAP and announcing to the world how gross it is. Especially if its seafood. Gag-o-rama. I actually had to excuse myself to go vomit one time after oyster touched my tongue.

Anyway. If it's mildly unpleasant, I may swallow it. If it's moderately unpleasant, I'll napkin it. But nasty gets the entire production.

I think spitting out food is more gross than swallowing the gross food. I have a thing against spitting. There's spit involved. It's gross.
