"Solitude" Edwin McCain, Honor Among Thieves

Just bought this CD. I'm trying to determine if I like his music enough to buy more. Still undecided.

He's sort of a contemporary folk singer. He's been around for awhile and I kept meaning to pick up his stuff but only just now got around to it.

(And the song title should've read "Solitude." Damn typos.)

You've probably seen him on VH1, on shows like I Love the 80s where, unfortunately, he's totally obnoxious. He's a gifted songwriter and writes some gorgeous lyrics, but when he talks he sounds like a stoner.

"I'll Be" is one of his best (of what I've heard) but it's from a more recent recording than the one I bought. I think I'll buy the one with that song next if I decide I like this one enough.

(I'm weird about unfamiliar music. I hardly ever like anything right off the bat, it usually takes a few listens, so that's why I keep saying "if.")
