AHL team offers Spears 'stress-free' getaway Syracuse Crunch proposes free trip to watch game for troubled, bald singer NEW YORK - The Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League have offered Britney Spears a quiet weekend getaway by extending to the troubled pop singer an all-expenses-paid trip to snow bound northern New York. "The team and community want to provide Britney Spears with a stress-free environment and the chance to experience a high level of hockey," said Crunch president Howard Dolgon. "In addition to being 3,000 miles away from Hollywood , Syracuse is light years away from that pretentious environment. "There won't be paparazzi within 100 miles." Spears, who has grabbed headlines with her wild behaviour since splitting from husband Kevin Federline, was in the glare of the media spotlight again at the weekend by shaving her head and getting another tattoo. The Crunch believes Syracuse would provide the perfect escape for Spears with the city still digging out from a storm that dumped as much as eight feet of snow on upper New York. The Crunch is also offering any woman who shaves her head a free ticket to their Feb. 24 game against the Manitoba Moose. Sources say Spears -- wearing a blonde wig -- went this morning to meet with Blair Berk, a prominent criminal defense lawyer whose roster of clients includes Lindsay Lohan, Halle Berry, Tracy Morgan and others. We do not know why Spears chose to meet with Berk, although it's unlikely it has anything to do with her divorce. In her divorce case, Spears is repped by disso-queen Laura Wasser. Spears could have met with Berk on a civil matter, as Berk handles both civil and criminal matters. Interestingly, Berk once repped Reese Witherspoon in her battle with hard-driving paparazzi. It's possible Spears went to Berk for similar reasons

Kevin Federline to go to court Thursday http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Musi....ap/index.html MALIBU, California (AP) -- As Britney Spears was reportedly checking out of a drug rehabilitation center for the second time in a week, her estranged husband was making plans to go to court amid a custody dispute over their two children. Kevin Federline and his lawyer were scheduled to appear at a downtown courthouse Thursday for an emergency hearing, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told The Associated Press. "Our best information is he will be here; she won't," said Parachini. "But anything is possible." It was not known what issue Federline planned to raise. Federline and Spears have two sons, 5-month-old Jayden James and 17-month-old Sean Preston. Federline filed papers seeking spousal support and sole custody of the children after Spears sought to end their two-year marriage last November. A temporary court order issued February 1 granted the couple joint custody until the end of this month. Parachini said Federline's lawyer would try to convince a Superior Court commissioner that the matter is urgent enough to be handled quickly. (more at link - but all about Britney's escapades...)
