I'd rather call Constantine.

as for believing, I totally believe in all things paranormal. I've never experienced anything myself tho...

*All* things?

None of this is stuff that occupies a large portion of my thoughts. And I definitely put it in a different category from religion (which I don't define as narrowly as some people do, evidently).

I definitely don't put this stuff in the same pot as religion either. I hope that's not how I came across, but that's not my intention. Religion, to me, is such a personal thing...rather faith is...but I don't group it with the paranormal, though interestingly enough three of the things unexplainable things I've experienced have been related to religion...

ITA. I think it's totally unreasonable and arrogant to think that, of all the planets in the universe, only one is capable of supporting intelligent life.

However, I'm not convinced that said lifeforms have actually visited earth.

I don't either, really, it's just that if you look strictly at the facts, God and everything that goes along with it is just as unexplained as any other theory or believe. As in...there are no facts. But as I said, it's such a large part of our society that nobody sees it that way. It has become a fact. Just like with any other thing that the majority of a group believes in.

You can believe God created mankind, you can believe aliens did it, you can believe they did it together or you can believe that it all started with the Big Bang and we evolved from that. It's all really a matter of opinion. I don't think that's narrow minded on my side. It's actually very open minded. I am open to all kinds of different theories.

Oh, no, I didn't mean you.

That's not what I meant, exactly. I was taking issue with equating religion with creation myths (which not all religions even have, btw), when they are really very peripheral, IMO (again, in the religions that have them).

that's just a sign of my laziness in responding to the question. I guess what I should have said is that I don't rule out much of anything as not possible.

I mean, if you come to me with stories about the creature from the Black Lagoon, I'd probably think you're a little nutty. I try to take each "idea" and think about it.

but yeah, I don't sit around pondering these things either. and as for religion, lawd, don't even get me started on that.

By The way Deanna, great conversation started. I have readily enjoyed reading through this thread.

Yep. In the middle of the day, over Anaheim, California. It was cigar/tubular in shape, kind of greyish/white colored. I couldn't tell how large it was, or how high it was...it kind of looked like it was floating but in a controlled way. There were a few high puffy clouds in the sky and it was well above them.

Well, I wouldn't call it playing. You definitely don't want to mess with that ****. I used the board once, and nothing happened, but I think it's because we were being idiots and not doing it properly. Which is good. The seance creeped me out enough. Nothing crazy happened, just the lights turning off randomly, and weird vibes around the place.

I don't have any personal experience with ouija boards, but basically, they're supposed to help conjure ghosts/departed spirits. I'd take everyone's advice here and stay away from them, personally. At best, it's a lot of hogwash and you'll be wasting your time; at worst, you could be asking for trouble, metaphysically speaking.
