Ok, you guys made me feel better I'm still on cloud 9.....Mick was just so nice.....he did always give me the impression that he's a real approachable guy, he seems to LOVE the attention. Plus, I think he really does appreciate his fans....I think he was maybe a little extra nice to me because 1) I was the only one under 50; 2) I actually dressed nice......I mean, maybe it's JUST me, but if I'm going to meet someone I really admire and respect, I want to look nice......I know I sound shallow...but, c'mon....if you make a special trip somewhere to meet someone famous.....at least look put together. Sorry.......I know looks aren't everything...but.....I almost found it a bit disrespectful......anyway.....

On to Mick's story....in a nutshell....before it was even "my turn" to go have him sign my magazines and bottle of wine, he looked over at me and said something (I was about 5-10 feet away) while he signed someone else's wine. I said "what?" (I should have said "excuse me?"....but I was caught off guard). He said "your necklace.....it gave me the chills." So....basically...you can say it was a good thing I wore my moon necklace! Then, once he very thoroughly scanned the magazines (which he clearly enjoyed looking at), he had me come around and take a picture with him, then he turned to me and told me about how Stevie gave his 90-something mother (who lives in Hawaii with him now) the same necklace.....there's more to it....but that's the quick version. Simply put, what a MEMORABLE experience ...and what a nice guy.

That's great! I am glad you got a chance to meet him. Which mags did you bring with you?

I brought one mag from '78 (crawdaddy) and another from '76 (don't remember which one....they're both at my parents' house...the next time I go over I'm going to bring them back to my house) ....both had the band on the cover. Mick's reaction was priceless....he pretty much did a "double take" when he saw the first one......I suppose it was a nice change to see something other than his wine bottles come across the table to be autographed. Oh yeah, and he's freaking huge. I knew he was super tall, but oh my, when he stood next to me as he walked down the line of people to get to his table, I felt like an ant next to him....he's what, 6'5" or something? My mom's barely 5', so he seemed even bigger to her. It was funny, he had this fancy schmancy leather chair to sit in, with these pads to rest his hands on (they look like those gel pads you can buy to put in front of your keyboard, except they weren't long and skinny....they were a big square, more like a mouse pad). I still think it was funny how he said the worst thing that could happen is if we didn't like his wine.

In regard to Jonathan Todd...he talked to people as they waited their turn.....he was a bit much, IMO...a little too over the top. Then, what was a bit annoying was they had this dude running up and down the line next to everyone, pushing a cart FULL of Mick's wine...and kept bugging people to take more......we didn't plan on buying any wine, but my mom got sick of him asking us we wanted some, so she just said "ok, we'll take a bottle of riesling." Then he left us alone.......I don't like it when people are pushy....I know they probably expected everyone in line to buy some, but, what if you don't drink? My friend belongs to a church (SRF), and, as part of their religion, they abstain from drinking.........you never know..........oh well, the whole thing still made my week.
