Well I killed this thread the last time, lets see if I can do it again

So I just went down to a little music shop that's closing down I went simply to get a cheap pair of drumsticks....

And ended up buying an electric guitar

I couldn't resist...the guitar, case, strap and 3 extra sets of strings was given to me for only $75.

I'm not a guitar player, but I'm excited...all I need now is an amp and my neighbors will rue the day they pissed ME off

Wow, that is exciting! I want one of those. I have an acoustic I've yet to learn to play. I've got a learn-to DVD. I just have to string the sucker. My ex broke a couple of the strings. I don't know how to replace them but I'll figure it out.

It's not hard to re=string, you will figure it out - if I can figure out anyone can

I had an acoustic years ago, and I learned some chords and even a few songs (It's Late and After the Glitter Fades among them) but then I just started ignoring it. Sadly now as I sit with my new guitar it seems I don't even remember the basic chords I learned years ago. Hopefully it'll come back to me.

I was just thinking the other day how I wish I'd not sold the guitar, but now I'm more excited because this puppy is much easier for me and my small hands to play.

Just went to Target today:

Adapter to play my mp3 through the cassette player in my car (after returning the cheap-ass FM tuner thing that didn't work very well.)

Candles - a gift for a friend's birthday.

Little People Noah's Ark & Dora water sprinkler for my God-daughter's birthday.

Aww...my FM tuner thing works really well - but the Tape adapter is a better method - I just didn't have a tape player in my car

So you still loving the mp3 player?

I just went back to that music store and bought a guitar tuner...and I was going to buy a bunch of picks - but he wouldn't let me pay for them - so I got a bunch of picks plus a pick pouch for free

Yeah, esp. for working out. I filled the thing up, though, so I'm gonna have to delete songs that I don't absolutely love soon to make room.

That's a big f*cking roof. of course, I have to remember that's Cali money. In Buffalo the entire thing would probably cost $5000.

*coughchokesplutter*

Sorry, that's quite a hit.

I'm getting a lamp today, it's all handmade and stuff from this cool shop by my house. It screws into the wall, which I need because I don't have a bedside table spot for a lamp, really.
It's all light wood, in a kind of upward turned half bowl shape (so it can be flat against the wall), then it has a part cut out and replaced with pretty sort of textured handmade paper looking stuff, whitish but with colors streaked through. So the light bulb sits behind that and the light shines through that part. It's the perfect size and shape for basically the only free spot on the wall above my bed, which is right over the part of my bed where I am when I read. Uncanny. I love that.

How many gigs did you get again?

And yes, working out is great with the mp3 player...like I don't remember what I did before I had mine. Oh that's right, I wasn't working out then

--Well I'm about to go BACK to that music store because as it turns out they did have cables left - and I don't have an amp, but at least I can buy the cable..or cord or whatever it's called.

This $75 deal is rapidly getting more expensive

I almost bought an Ab Lounger today, but before I could call the girl selling it, it was sold.
