I would pay $25.00 to $50.00 or more for a self-released album offered on the Nixfix containing new versions of these songs. Most definitely!!!

I saw your Youtube snippet of "The Rose" and it reminded me of seeing you and other ledgies in that loverly version of "Stand Back". My mind has had "Under Pressure" stuck in my head and I thought how much I would enjoy doing that one with you- I want to be Freddie to your Bowie! Although, I'm sure you would fight me for the Freddie part, Sausage Pattie....

When I typed that out my mind zapped right to "Whole Lotta Trouble" (of course)- two freeeks think alike.

Then I got pissed because I thought- how cool would it be for Stevie to do "Love is Like a River" live in her upcoming shows and really have fun with it and rip the hell out of it. Her current voice could so easily pull off that song.

I think you could do the Annie Lenox part in spades and you have to wear the outfit and make up!

Huge missed opportunity for Stevie. I know you've all discussed this to death, but this is all new to me. I had no idea she had this treasure chest.

She has more brilliant unreleased songs than most artists have released songs. I sometimes wonder if she's forgotten even writing some of these.

Like you said, Stevie could easily release an entire album, consisting of newly-recorded "vaulted songs."
Ironic thing though -- there were actually fans (*cough*) who complained about the "30-year old songs" on 'Trouble In Shangri-La' and 'Say You Will.'
Guess there truly is just no pleasing everyone.

The only question I ever sent in to that stupid "Ask Stevie" thing was exactly that. I said I wanted demos, as cleaned up as she could make them, preferably with written notes for each song (about anything: inspiration for the song, who came up with the idea for the arrangement, why it was abandoned, how Jimmy Iovine was a bastard for not liking "Julia" ... whatever).

No outlandish packaging, no art, nothing that would cost her money or cause her headaches - simple and to the point. I even said I would happily pay in advance and help promote it in the community.

But, she didn't answer. Not even a two-worder.

Thanks - I appreciate - but again I'm just sharing the joy. If you have something you'd like to share, feel free. Like I said before, whatever you post someone will need/want in their collection.

And like several have said in this thread, even if they think they already have what you post, they'll still download it again anyway (just to see if it's even the slightest bit different or teeniest better quality). Compulsive!!!

Haven't visited The Ledhe in ages, but this is great !

I have been tapetrading since the late 8o's. Long before the years of the internet. Have collected a lot of tapes (as well as a few CD-R's) with concerts and demos/outtakes. Got rid of my casette-player and put them ayway in a box in the closet.

Downloaded a few demos every now and then and now find this thread....
Started downloading and will put them on my Ipod next.....

My girlfriend thought I'm nuts when I showed her my collection of tapes and stuff....:-)

Anyway, of course I know most of these demos. Haven't heard them in a few years, but is real fun to hear those gems. Also there was some stuff that I didn't knew of forgot about.

Thanks for posting !!!!! I'll see if I can contribute some stuff as well.
