I love them. Really. I'm just annoyed right now.

Yeah...

Here's a lil' fluff face for ya.

Actually... all my pets are rather "fluffy." Kinda like their mama.
(Incidentally, the $50.00 bag of premium cat food is of the calorie control variety. "Tiny Tim" isn't very tiny. )

She's an Oriental Firebelly Toad (one of three in my menagerie). The one in the photo is Esmerelda. They don't "squeak" so much as "bark," but only the males are vocal -which is a good thing, 'cause my boy Ernie never shuts up unless he's not feeling well. If all three were that loud I'd never get any sleep.

For the record though, I'm one of those non-girly girls. The kind that's too cheap to even buy make-up. A trait that goes hand in hand with the fact that if I did buy it, I'd be too lazy to put it on.

^ So cute! Toads are weird pets, and I mean that in a good way. I've never come across anyone who had them. I had a wild toad as a 'pet' for awhile when I was really young... Meaning I left a flower pot on its side, and this one (probably wasn't the same one, but who knows) toad would show up and grab a drink of water and a nap before taking off.

I actually never intended to have a pet toad. My first one, Ernie, used to be an office pet at the first vet clinic I worked at and somehow I ended up being the one taking care of him. Nobody else ever cleaned his tank or bought food for him, so he sort of became mine and left with me. That was about five years ago. He stayed a bachelor until late 2005 when I bought Esmerelda, and then about six months ago I added Jade to the mix.

They're cute, but not particularly rewarding pets. Sort of a hands off, just observe kind of pet, like fish, only not. Their skin produces a mild toxin, so it's not advisable to handle them if you can help it.

Yeah... I can't imagine toads being easy to cuddle with. Then again, neither is my bird. I liked having fish when my cat was still alive. They were sort of like the secondary pet.

of my older brothers girlfriend years ago, She called one day 'in the mood' and proceeded for the next 20-30 minutes to tell all the stuff she was wanting to do (And was doing ) until I ask her "do you want to talk to Geary?". She thought I was joking...Obviously I wasnt.

Actually I was yelling at him for not driving up in the snow to see me.

And besides, my sister is single, she probably wouldnt mind the attention. Maybe not from her gay brother, but attention is attention.
