Never a dull moment with that one.

One is a flat out kick ass vocal by her . I love, love, love it. You know she feels what she's singing in that song.

Bless her heart. She was going to be on tv in front of millions and some stylist couldn't have wrangled a better outfit for her than that? She seemed a little nervous at first but I guess that's only fair since they didn't know who was singing until their name was called. She started working it towards the end and I thought JT was very gracious with her.

I'm guessing it was a sincere thank you from Prince/CBS to all the fans. I thought that these days, it was a pretty classy thing for them to do.

for those 2 reasons alone, I highly enjoy.
Poor Cameron. "What you had, ooh what you lost..." They never looked right together anyway.

Truly. They couldn't sing Dani California? And the confetti was a bit too gimmicky.

So is Jackson Brown if the rumour mill is to be believed and some members of Styx (although I heard that one a while ago). Cripes, Glenn Frey had his liver replaced due to his partying, didn't he?

Horrible. No one should ever attempt to skimp on that song especially when it comes to the guitar parts of Felder, Frey and Walsh.

Never heard it. I'll have to check it out. I'm a Concrete/Johnette fan.

Couldn't agree more. I've tried to like this band but nothing of theirs has really moved me since Moving Pictures. After that, I just don't get it.

Cool Another Grammy award presentation...

not televised. Funny, used to see metal awards on the Grummies years ago, but now you dont. That's fine, we metalheads prefer the underground instead of the popularity.

For the record, the video for 'Eyes Of The Insane' is one of the most Fubar'd videos ever, good disturbing stuff.

------------------------------------

Slayer Wins Their First Grammy

Earlier tonight at the 49th annual Grammy Awards at The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, Slayer was awarded The Grammy for Best Metal Performance for 'Eyes Of The Insane' from their Christ Illusion album. Sadly, the award was not part of the televised broadcast.

The other nominees in the Best Metal Performance category were: Lamb of God for 'Redneck', Mastodon for 'Colony Of Birchmen', Ministry for 'Lies, Lies, Lies' and 'Stone Sour for '30/30-150'.

This was Slayer's second Grammy nomination, the first being in 2002 for the track 'Disciple' from God Hates Us All, also in the Best Metal Performance category. Tool took home The Grammy that year for 'Schism'.

Slayer is currently headlining a North American tour and did not attend the Grammy presentation, but vocalist/bassist Tom Araya had this to say about the win from his hotel room in Columbus, OH: " Jeff (Hanneman, guitarist) and I put a lot into 'Eyes Of The Insane' so we're thrilled that the Grammy voters took the time to listen to it, and then vote for it. We're out here on the road and we're all really, really happy."

The whole 2 CD package really is just an amazing piece of work. I am really diggin "Slow Cheetah" right now. That guitar piece at the end really does it for me.

"She's Only 18" is another one of my favorites! Honestly I could go on forever, plus "Snow" is another great one.

One more..."Tell me Baby" - Great music video with that too!
