Default Would you give up your Stevie demos?

Thought this would be interesting since so many demo's are being shared right now!

Suppose you meet Stevie one day and mention to her how much you love the demo "China Doll". Upon hearing this she becomes very upset and tells you she wishes her fans would not listen to her works in progress. She takes your hand and looks you right in the eyes and pleads with you to no longer listen to them. What do you do?

I'd say sure thing. I haven't listened in ten years or so maybe, anyway
And I don't even know what China Doll is, imagine

I'd tell her that I'll stop listening to them when she gets her lazy ass back in the studio and records a new album.

I chose the 3rd option, but I really would want to say this ^^^.

I would be less of a fan without them. She has no business keeping things like "She Loves Him Still", "Maker of Birds", and the demo of "The Tower" locked up; unappreciated.

I heard most of these demos back to 97' or so, I know they have been in circulation much longer than that except the master reels that Modern records auctioned off a few years ago. The demos & outtakes have only made me a bigger fan of Stevies talent. Stevie was very prolific in the 70's till mid 80's...As she has always said....and it kills me that many of these songs were not put out or brought to fruition..

I feel very lucky to have gotten to hear such gems as:
Space Needle
Chanel Chanel (in the darkness)
She Loves Him Still
City Of Hope
If You Were My Love
ALL THE BEAUTIFUL WORLDS
Forest of the Black Roses
The Dealer
Mistaken Love
Joan Of Arc
Belle Fleur
Julia
Sanctuary
Christian/Spinning Wheels

HELL, all Stevie needs to do is record these songs and release them and she'd have a KILLER new CD, get a great producer like Jon Brion or Rick Rubin, and not worry about putting out a commercially viable product .....go in for the artistic beauty and expression! It would be a critical success and songwriting achievement for her.
I also fantasize that shes'd just release some of her mellow demos i.e. The Rhiannon Project of sorts w/ FOTBR, Mistaken Love, 3 Birds Of Rhiannon, She Loves Him Still, with minimal production & some strings. Just Stevie a great piano player, strings and slight percussion. what a beautiful way to end her solo/songwritting career...who cares about Hits at this point....Stevie has nothing more to prove.....just record a classic recording. How magical would that be.

I'd tell her to release an album of the demos....
These are some killer songs, that when mixed in a studio would rock!

I chose option 3 (because, seriously, it's true...) but I think I'd barter with her.

"Listen Stevie, you ain't gettin' Space Needle back, I'm sorry, but I love it too much. You can have Amber though."

Yes, I'd try to trade too.
I'll never give gems like Space Needle, Christian, She Loves Him Still, Night Gallery, Battle of the Dragon, but she can have....let's see...Love is like a river, Stay Away, and Castaway

No fukcing way! Stevie believes in the fates - "the spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose." In which case I would say that these demos were meant to be leaked and heard. And there are times when I think they have been leaked on purpose. At this point in her career, since she appears tio be uninterested in making new music I'm thankful to have them. And just imagine, by her statements, there are thousands more.

god - it would kill me to know she was upset that i have all her demos, but i would try to talk with her. i would tell her how much mistaken love means to me. i would seriously try to express to her how she touched my heart with that song, and i would ask her to tell me, explain to me, why she needs to take it away. it would be like wrenching a true love from me to take it back.

space needle... chanel, chanel... i would be so sad if i could never hear them again. without you... oh, stevie. how could i give these treasures back?

i love Stevie but probably not
im just one little fan in millions who have her demos

on the other hand i would appease her IF
she committed in WRITING that she would record a new cd with

Something Exquisite
Prettiest Girl in the World
Mistaken Love
Beautiful Ghost
All the Beautiful Worlds
Forest of the Black Roses
Space Needle
Joan of Arc {the wicked angsty version}

if she agreed to that
i wouldnt care if she never recorded any new material ever again
