It slays everone I've ever played it for. I would die for a clear version of this one too. However, I think this one was done at home, so it's as clear as we're ever gonna get.

Thanks for posting all these demo's. I had only heard a few of them. It's been like Christmas Day the last hour downloading and listening to them! Thanks!

Thanks for the backup Jaz!

Sorry for the delay everyone - did you miss me? I intended to post sooner, but I got all weepy sorting thru my "If You Were My Love" demos. (Oh, if only I were kidding...) And it didn't help that I still had "Julia" files to check after I ran out of Kleenex.

I blame the advertising industry and their damn Valentine's Day commercials. Or menopause. Maybe a little of both. Anyway - enjoy!

^^^
this batch likely includes some of my most favorite Stevie Demos.

IYWML is stunning. the Mirage outtake almost brings me to tears.

Yes! It's funny - that track has been downloaded twice as many times (approaching 3 times...) as the other tracks. It's definitely a "community fave".

If only they'd finished it for Mirage while Stevie still had that edgy voice, and booted one of Lindsey's clunkers. "Moment to mo-MENT!!!" Imagine the video we might have gotten for it!!!!

I'm reposting here the .wav file for "Julia - Outtake 5" that gldstwmn ripped a few weeks ago. It's 63 Megs - I didn't want to include it with the others since they're all mp3s. If you're broadband-blessed (or on dialup and don't mind waiting 2 days for it to download ), it's a must-have.

I'm not sure I ever heard the TITN demo for Joan of Arc...just the other version you posted. Sounds like they were onto something. Lord knows it's not catchy in the slightest, but with some editing, you can bet it would've been more compelling than When I See You Again. Her vocal is certainly stronger on this than on anything that actually made it onto the album.

I've never really understood the song - I can't imagine writing about Joan Of Arc without mentioning (or alluding to) fire. But I guess that's the poet that she is.

I do wonder what it would have been like with some backing vocals. Oh, and with the damn handclaps taken off.
