Haven't seen or heard from them since the great Ledge War of 1998.
Travis still posts here from time to time (in fact, he has "Addicted Ledgie" status, with 260 posts), but George tired of the drama and juvenile antics, and no longer even lurks here.

Herbie was great at capturing Stevie's essence back in the day. My problem with the pictures you chose is that they look staged, instead of capturing a facet of Stevie or capturing a special moment. I see more of a deliberately doe-eyed look. Reminds me of Little Red Riding Hood or a Disney heroine.

As for this supposed Crystal Visions cover art, I'm not a fan. The doodads extending from the "S" and "N" bring to mind Middle Eastern hookah pipes. I just don't look at it and think "Stevie Nicks~!," which makes me wonder how engaged the general record-buying public would be by that cover.

I get that Stevie was in a drug-induced haze that resulted in things like the Street Angel CD and the Miss Havisham of the unreleased "Unconditional Love" video. Now that she's clear-headed and has her feet on the ground -- reeboks or not -- it'd be nice to see something more polished.

Trouble In Shangri-La was presented well, for the most part like a piece of art. This doesn't look like it took much thought, or like anyone really cared.

Hmm, it only took me a few years to start complaining.

....there's an unreleased video for "Unconditional Love"

How do you know this?

I AM SO HAUNTED RIGHT NOW.

Understandable.

If you're still in contact with him, pass along my greetings.

It was rumoured many years ago, that those pics of Stevie where she's wearing the big, curly blond wig and is surrounded by a ton of candles and other chachki, were taken on the set of a video for "Unconditional Love."
However, in the 13 years since it would have been filmed, actual footage from it has never turned up.

Phil mentioned the same thing in another thread a few weeks ago. He also said there was one (completed & ready to go) for Reconsider Me.

Who knew???

How does everyone feel about these "best of" covers?

Very good point. But I tend to go with these pics rather than the ones that are on the actual cover is because they express something. I think people would be more interested with a face like that on the cover than the 'Hi, I'm Stevie "Bored With Life" Nicks' cover they came up with.

Awful. That reminds me - I forgot to moisturize my face this morning.

Beautiful.

The collection itself is great - horrendous cover.

The others are just OK. I actually like TVBOFM - at least how it continues the theme of the first 2 albums with S&L.

I was just thinking that so many of these (and many, many more that I didn't have enough space to post URLs to) either utilize 25-35 year old photos and/or the most simplistic of fonts... both of the things everyone seems unhappy with, regarding 'Crystal Visions.'
And that 'Essential Heart' cover... they didn't even use a decent promo photo, but rather a "candid" taken during an interview where Ann's mouth is formed in mid-speech! Egads.

I would have been happier if Stevie's cover had a brand new (or at least relatively new) pic, but I still think it's very pretty and thoroughly "Stevie."

Default Re new album

It is So exciting when we do eventually get a new Stevie album, just for that fact alone
However, when i look at the tracklisting and the cover, i see a bit of a sad situation!
Where do we go from here?
Tours with Chris Isaak who??????
Covers of Rock & roll ( a LZ song i absolutely loathe!!!done to death by Everybody!!)

Why doesn't Stevie just record some of her amazing unreleased songs (Julia/Sanctuary/She loves him still/smile at you etc etc) which wuld be much more interesting!!)

Love you Stevie (all of my life) but need you to do something special ( I know you are capable of this as i watched a recent performace of Landslide and saw that you still had IT!!)

I was told a few years ago, by someone allegedly "in the know," that Stevie approached Warner/Reprise and proposed releasing some of her old demos and outtakes as they were recorded all those years ago, though with some new overdubs to freshen them up (a la "Reconsider Me"), but Warners passed.

Not to sound cynical or morbid, but maybe Warners thinks those old recordings would sell more once she's no longer with us.

Compared to that one this is a masterpiece. But still it stinks. Figure how low I rank LIB.
