Lindsey Buckingham adds spring leg

Singer/guitarist Lindsey Buckingham keeps piling on the dates to support his first solo album in 14 years, "Under the Skin," which surfaced in October.

The outing's third leg launches March 7 in Tampa, FL, and covers the Eastern US into April. More shows are on the way, according to Buckingham's website. Confirmed dates are listed below.

"Under the Skin" is the Fleetwood Mac member's first solo album since 1992's "Out of the Cradle." Buckingham said he got to work on his latest solo project after reuniting with Fleetwood Mac for 2003's "Say You Will."

Because we get caught up in the traditional rock prototypes, some who have been around for awhile try to pretend they're something they're not," Buckingham said in his record label's bio. "But it is so important for an artist work to evolve with his maturity. At some point it is not about playing the game, but about the process of creating. Hopefully the outcome will be valid."

Songs from "Under the Skin" are streaming at Buckingham's website and MySpace page.

The visionary musician doesn't intend to wait another 14 years before his next release. He told the Dallas Observer last month that he expects to return with another solo project in 2008 and that Fleetwood Mac plans to regroup once again for an effort to be released in 2009.

[Note: The following tour itinerary has been provided by artist and/or tour sources, who verify its accuracy as of the publication time of this story. Changes may occur before tickets go on sale. Check with official artist websites, ticketing sources and venues for late updates.]

annnd it's not looking too good for philadelphia. it doesn't really make sense for him to hit northern nj and then after harrisburgh and chicago to head back to that area. womp womp.

I agree...

The thing is that he could technically go on forever with this tour. What with the size venues he's playing - there's theatres of this size in practically every single city and town whether it's a small city, or a big city, or town... and I'm sure he could fill them too.

Absolutely. I vote that he should ditch Fleetwood Mac and just make solo albums and tour these smaller venues. And come to Austin every year.

It doesn't make sense that he is playing ever fartin place in central/northern New England but skips over the Providence market. I doubt that he will come back to the east coast in the summer. If he did then I would say that I could see him playing at a local race track called Lincoln Park in Lincoln, RI. They have a lot of classic rock type artists play their outdoor stage in the summer.

Hi Pattie,

I don't know who is selecting the venues??!! He is playing CT again but in a far away middle of nowhere place for me. I am going and hope I don't get lost! Are you going to any of the shows in CT, NY or MA?

Do y'all think this is the final list? I know his website says wait for more dates, but it might just not be updated.

I thought previous reports said he'd be touring thru July. I think these dates are just the third leg. And yeah, I doubt these dates are all of 'em.

I just bought tickets to the Knoxville, TN show, but I'm wondering where the Birmingham, Al date is???

C'mon Linds, don't you remember us? You had a "cult-like" following here!! You did your last show as Buckingham Nicks here!!! Come back! We've got several great venues that you would fill with generations of fans (like my mom, me, and my daughter!)

pssst...Stevie has been back....

Haha...well, thanks. I mainly say he should ditch FM because they charge such exorbitant prices for tickets. And I have no interest in paying $200 to see what will likely be the same thing I can see by popping in the Live in Boston DVD. And I'd be especially pissed if Stevie gave a performance like the one at the Super Bowl. Oy.
