Just ONE. They're still rabbits, even though giant.

this just makes me sick. literally. and I don't get why everyone assumes it was drugs. maybe she did OD'd, maybe not. may as well wait for the autopsy report. it has been reported that she slipped and hit her head on the bathtub last night.

she's always been kooky. but I liked her, a lot. hell, I have her show on DVD. she did what she wanted and was herself no matter what. people at work were making snide comments about "she deserved it" or "what'd she think would happen with all those drugs" or "that baby's gonna be screwed up more than she was" or "you know, that fat woman that used to be a Playboy playmate that did commercials for TrimSpa"

it just infuriated me. maybe I'm overly sensitive, but my heart sank when I heard. it's the life of a woman that clearly and admittedly had problems, issues and her share of really hard times...a gorgeous woman gone. it's just terribly sad and I wish people would at least wait a day before starting on the who did what, she OD'd and joke making. that's all.

RIP Anna.

Unhappy

This news coverage is sickening. The newscasters, and those interviewed, seem to be channeling Oldman. She didn't win a fin' academy award people!

That's why I only want one. I already have a giant Rottweiler I can barely clean up after. Rabbit pellets scatter.

You need two, here is why: (Rottweiler?!?!? Oh, that wont make bunny nervous! )

Why is a second rabbit a good idea?
The need for companionship is so deeply ingrained in rabbits that centuries of domestication have had little impact. Like humans and many other creatures, European wild rabbits (ancestors to our domestic rabbits) need to live in groups. A community or warren consists of as many as a hundred individuals working together to create, maintain and peacefully share a network of tunnels. Their lives include daily cooperation to find food, watch for and warn of predators, and protect, raise, and teach their young.

The need for companionship can be met partially by a human, but once you live with a bonded pair or trio you will see that even the most devoted human cannot quite fill the bill. Bonded pairs are rarely out of each other's sight. Humans will never be completely fluent in Rabbit. Rabbits talk to each other constantly, not so much with sounds as with movements. There are large movements such as dancing and grooming, and there are quite small communications of breath and slight shifts in position. You can sense some of this quiet conversation by lying on the floor beside two talkative rabbits. The bond between human and rabbit also can be deep and joyful. In fact, the closer we become to our rabbits, the more clearly do we understand their need for a friend of their own kind.

Fortunately for all of us, what's good for the bunny is very good for her human. HRS Colorado Chapter Manager Nancy LaRoche writes, "Pairs are much easier to care for, get into far less trouble, are happier, and tend to relate better to people. Boredom leads to bunny-in-trouble, and pairs don't get nearly as bored because they are so busy relating to each other. Many adopters have told me, 'If anyone doubts that pairs get into less trouble and relate better to people, tell them to call me! If I had known how much easier two rabbits would be, I'd never have gotten just one.'"

Boredom and depression are common symptoms of loneliness in rabbits. These are accompanied by destructiveness and hyperactivity in some rabbits (generally the smaller breeds), withdrawal in others.

By adopting your new friend from a shelter or rescue group you can save two lives, which feels even better than saving one.

OMG me too!!! These look even bigger than Flemish Giants, one of which I would also love to have.

And to think I have a 10-pounder and everyone thinks she's huge.

And yes, two is much better than one. Just gotta get the little buggers fixed.

You know Jaz, I agree. Everyone is assuming she OD'd but she had been ill all week and was traveling with a nurse. She had a collapsed lung due to pheumonia in late October. I told my husband a few months back that I would be surprised if she survived Daniel's death. She did love that kid...she was almost codependent on him. He took care of her, in a way. So sad. I am sure she was on drugs, she was slurring on ET last night but I wonder if her death was just a combo of all of it. She was constantly being kicked when she was down. I never thought Howard would hurt her or her kid. Honestly, when you live with an addict, there is only so much you can do unless the person wants to help themselves. He is a lawyer so he certainly did not prescribe her any drugs. He as really the only one who stood by her and did not betray her. Short of physically stopping her from taking scripts or illegal drugs, what could he have done? Left her? I am sure he tried to get her help. If a drug addict wants to drug, they will, no matter who tries to stop them.

Nancy Grace is also reporting that Howard will get custody in the Bahamas, as he is listed as the father on the birth certificate. The baby is not in the States, they left her home in the Bahamas. There is an emergency paternity hearing scheduled in the US. Sidenote..I cannot stand Debra Opri. She is pretty cold.
