Anyway, Top Design was pretty good. There's a whole lotta gay on that show. Even moreso then Runway, but it's Bravo...they love the gay! I was surprised that each pair got a $50,000 budget for their room. Plus they get carpenters and seamstresses. (Those poor fashion designers on PR got leaves, string and 75 cents to make an outfit.) Hopefully the contestants on this show won't get a break all of the time.

I'll let you catch the reruns so we can discuss.
Marcel looked like he was going to **** himself when they announced Ilan as the winner. Dude, you can at least attempt a fake "I'm happy for you" face. I don't watch the show regularly, but enough to know I don't like him - like him even less now that he blamed all the problems he had with the last meal on his sous chefs & didn't give credit to the guy for creating an entire dish until the very end. Classy.

Missed TD, fell asleep, but will def catch the reruns. "Whole lotta gay in that show." I love Mikeschmike.

Oh - I did catch the very beginning - Mike, please tell me that Oldham didn't speak that akwardly animated fake way the entire show. Please.

Yeah, Marcel and his pisspants attitude...and he wonders why he lost? He needs to get over himself. He also needs to cut his hair so he stops looking like Wolverine from X-Men.

And sorry P, but Oldham is that way through the entire show. It makes me miss Heidi's voice overs, which I thought would never ever happen. Luckily the main judge (gay man...surprised?) does most of the talking and is less involved with the "you're in, you're out" stuff. Todd explained the challenge, and came around and did the Tim Gunn thing. Ooh, that reminds me, I have Tim Gunn news. I'll find the PR3 thread.

Paula, the tuna loves you too!

Dude. He totally looks like Wolverine.

Top Design is, in true Bravo fashion, being rerun 500 times this week. I think it's on tonight at 8pm, but I can't miss Ghost Whisperer. It's also on at random times late at night, so I'm going to try & Tivo it then & watch when I can.

Now that Top Chef is over, they've moved Top Design to 10/9 central pissy time (thanks Michelle, I will forever say it that way ). Anyway, hopefully you all won't fall asleep for it.

In case you're interested, you can go here and watch a cool interview with Johnathan Adler and Tim Gunn. It's interesting, precious, and oh so gay.

OK, I watched Top Design. I don't know how long I can deal with Todd Oldham's exaggerated speaking voice. Seriously, it's actually painful to listen to. However, the overabundance of gay catty-ness and Bitchy McBitch judges has me hooked. I agreed with them on the group that won as well as the group they sent home.

Is that how he normally speaks? I have a total dislike for the cheerleader zing he adds onto every third word...if that is not how he normally speaks he should be told it is hardly necessary...we are interested in viewing and don't need the added pep.

Not that I recall. I think I've seen interviews with him & I don't remember his talking like such an asshole. "OK, designers, let's SEE how you DO with this challange, alRIGHT?!?!" Really forced & fake & odd.

Did you catch it, hun? If not, they're rerunning episode 1 tonight at 9pm, right before ep. 2. I asume it will be this way every week - the previous week's ep @9pm, then the new one @ 10, ala' Runway.

Ok. I really want to love this show. It has so much potential. Even though I will probably watch the whole season, it is already boring me. Could the judges be any more boring? I think that's the problem.....the montone judges. And the contestants are rather bland.

you took the words outta my mouth. I lost interest about 30 minutes into the first show and only came back to see who got cut. the second episode didn't pop my coochie either. the only thing really keeping me watching it was Jonathan Adler's quippy comments.

what the hell has happened to Alexis Arquette?! lol. Todd Oldham is annoying, but he seems really nice. and, for some reason, I remembered him looking much better than this. and editor-in-chief homegirl is a biotch and needs La Mer stat. oh, and, Mr. I have a wife and a daughter I bet he is the first to hook up with one of the male roommates.

I will, however, be needing a couple of those carpenters over at my house asap.

Unfortunately so. It's no Project Runway. The designs on this show are not meeting my expectations of what level the contestants should be at.
