I think she was making baby-twirls yesterday because of the shortened arrangement. She probably has each of her power twirls timed for her normal show... but she probably didn't know how many she could squeeze into the shortened guitar solo yesterday, so she stopped a little early, for fear of overtwirling.

Yes, the only part she ever twirls in was completely cut. I'm surprised she did anything outside of her pre-planned movements. Another reason why this was not an awful performance.

I agree. Though, I do love to overtwirl

Mmmmh. Vocally not her best (probably for a multitude of reasons already mentioned) and there's just no point twirling without a massive shawl to set it off
But she definitely got into it around the second verse or so. Towards the end she was certainly rocking!

Thanks for posting guys!

All of her faster twirling of late has been while wearing the Frankeboks. I haven't seen her twirl in heels since the Katrina concert on the Today show. And that was very similar in momentum. I'd rather she wear the heels and keep the twirls moderately paced then ever put on those ugly-ass shoes again.

Don't you find she walks like Herman Monster when she wears the frankenboks (stiff and from the hip) but walks "almost" normal in the boots with heels My husband watched some bootlegs with me just lately of the recent Vegas shows and couldn't get over how she walks in the reboks and then yesterday after this performance he said "I'm glad to see she's walking better in those kind of boots" That's funny for him to notice that

I have to agree about the sh2tty audio feed ,no stereo seperation mix of the band.it sound like cbs did not care about it.I hope they do better at the grammys next week. Stevie's performance was superb under the short time limit, they gave her.and the weather didn't help at all.

I watched it again & realized what's was bugging me. She looks almost mad. Not many smiles, ala' the Today show performance last year ('05?) Kind of harsh & forced & not thrilled to be there. It was OK, not great.

Love the new "sympathy" moves though. "And.........JAZZ HANDS!!!!!!"

I'd rather she put on the Reeboks and twirl superfast than have her wear the boots and struggle to frickin walk like she once did.

Sorry, but comfort > style. Especially on the Edge of Sixty.

At least she did the " La la la la la..." part this time. She almost drowned out that sugarplum fairy Jana.

I think it was really bland. No umph at all. It sounds like she's singing it just because she has to, rather than singing it for her own pleasure.

I love Stevie, and I know that she's pushing 60, but I have heard much better. To be honest, if I were singing a song that's been played to death for the past 20-some years, I'd half-ass it, too. She looks great, though.

What else is she supposed to do? You can't do much when you have to stand in front of a mic to sing it...

I don't know, maybe put forth a little more effort? I definitely think she wasn't digging the song, and felt like she HAD to sing it, so that's why it was so vanilla. She could have pretended to dig it a little more, though..
