Ok, calm down. First, I have NEVER called any girl or woman "dude". That was to ethan. Second, I am not encouraging anyone to as you so politley put it "F" with peoples heads. and PLEASE try to remember that the only thing that you know about me at all is that I like stevie nicks. before you start making assumptions about my character, slinging personal insults, or making threats. And you are right that I do not know nearly as much about women as you do, because I am not one. but seriously, I am not a jerk. and you dont know me. But do you know what? I am "THE FRIEND". The friend who is allways there and supportive, and then ends up alone. I am the guy that the girls complain about their boyfriends to. I am the guy who goes to pick up the girl that he cares about at 2am, because shes stranded and upset, and her jerk boyfriends to drunk to care. I am the guy who still opens and holds the doors for a woman when she is entering a room or a building. I even bring flowers when you are down, and actually listen when you talk. and when I compliment and say that their hair looks nice after it is just cut all I ever hear is "are you gay?" I have spent many years having girls that I have felt love for tell me that Im, "the greatest friend" and "just like a brother" and "you'll find someone some day" (meaning someone else). but believe me, I am a good guy and you ndont know me. This is not Dr. Phill save a relationship advice! Ethan is a teenager. and I do know teenagers. I work with Jr. High students at the school that I work at. and Im sorry, but teenage girls tend to like the bad boy. Now, im only 25 so yeah, I got alot to learn, but I have been "the friend" and alone for FAR TOO LONG. and I was just saying that If you put the im your friend vibe out there, that is what she will think of you as.

Just my opinion...

This is what I was trying to say, but I obviously put it very badly. so I am sorry.

THe "inner jerk" coment was a subtle joke directed at ethan. go back and read the two posts after that, THEY got the joke. and HOW DARE YOU IMPLY THAT I AM A JERK WHO IS A JERK TO WOMEN WITH LOW SELF ESTEEM!! Just last night, I attended a dance at my church with my little sister who has a physical disability. SHe was beyond depressed about the fact that the only guy that would ask her to dance was her brother. DO NOT TELL ME ABOUT GIRLS WITH "LOW SELFESTEEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does that mean? I never said anything to her. I was talking to ethan. If we took a poll, on how manny people have said things to Eathan, I would be WAY far down on that list. even so, I said somehting to "him" not to "her". I was making a "bad joke"
Im sorry.
(no, but seriously, what do you mean by that?)

I didn't imply you were a jerk. You did. I apologize if I have hurt your feelings.

See, I actually did read in your comment a little disappointment and maybe bitterness, as if you had felt burned by being the nice guy. And I guess your explanation below bears that out.
Of course, we don't know how impressionable Ethan is or whether he would get the facetious tone. We *do* know that he says he has moved on, and we are all still talking about it

In the end, most women like a guy who is a little bad and most guys like a girl with a little mystery. It is just the way of the world for most humans - intellecutal/heady discussions aside, we are all rather wired that way

you are young - chill out and see what happens = good advice imo

don't put on airs for girls you like . . . be yourself and they will see how you are in life and how you are with them and will admire and like the contrast . . . = also good advice in my opinion - but this advice was tossed in a big ole salad with some humor and a dash or two of snide . . . just for fun - again in my opinion -

- and you quoted gldst's statement and that kinda personalized it so i think she took it as a shot accross her bow - (and what a pretty bow it is - did you see the picture thread?) when you were really not meaning it that way-
we all have "THE INNER JERK" - {"my little demon coming on down . "anyone?> > > we all have ongoing inner fights going on . . . }
it seems phoenix is saying don't wait til you are married to allow someone to see the WHOLE person that also includes an "inner jerk" - let them see the real you - good and bad -

I know it is hard to rein that in when you are excited about someone you meet, but just take a breath, and throw more of the energy into your music and novel. There will be someone whose enthusiasm matches yours, I don't think you will have to wonder, but you might have to wait.
Just my opinion...
whew - no paraphrase needed really = good advice imo

and then there is this . . .

I really am so sorry. I never should have posted. I'm sitting here crying thinking that people out ther have a wrong opinion of who i am and what im like. i just have been if the nice guys finish last rut for some time, and am frustrated. i am so upset about this.i do not believe that women should be degrated or put down in anyway. no one should. i am really sorry if that is how that got interpreted. i only wanted to tell him not to be soo much of a friend, that thats all she ever thinks of you as. i'm sorry.
