Ah no. That explains it though.

If you want stuff to smoke, you should have just said so.

People! This is Stand Back - the fabled "Civil War Version" and possibly the original Edge Of Seventeen videos in *MINT* condition.....!!!

-- This is the surprise equivalent of Stevie either setting her hair on fire on stage, on purpose, or covering Charo's "Cuchi-Cuchi" on her next new album...!!!

No complaining anymore from anybody.

Crikey! I don't want the CD, but I might be getting it for the DVD. Cuz I gots ta have the unreleased Edge of Seventeen, and I gots ta have the Civil War Stand Back, and I gots ta have the home videos.

I wonder if the rare video footage is the same tapes from which clips were taken for the video to Sometimes Its a Bitch. Look at 2:09 with Stevie falling on the ground, and look at 2:49 with Stevie strumming a guitar. That looks like Bella Donna studio footage.

This is so exciting !!
My jaw dropped when I saw Edge Of Seventeen and Stand Back Civil War version on this DVD. Not sure if EO17 will be from VH1 Storytellers or the real video that got circulated that is so grainy. I could have sworn that on an earlier leaked track listing, it mentioned a track from Storytellers. But hey, the Civil War version of Stand Back is finally seeing the light of day !

For example, when the track listing for "Reflections" was leaked out on Seven Wonders several days ago, a link was not posted back to the original source of the information, which was taken from this thread on Seven Wonders:

Oh honey, get over yourself already. No one here is trying to steal your thunder. We are all fans with one common objective. And how do you know where the original information was leaked from? It if wasn't leaked from someplace else, you wouldn't have it in the first place. You don't have a leg to stand on with respect to "intellectual property."
Please accept my apologies on behalf of The Ledge if you feel that proper netiquette wasn't followed with respect to your board. But don't come on here and lecture posters about the rules of netiquette. If you had an issue with that, you could have easily taken it up with any of the mods here and in private. It's not your place. Not classy.

I'm not Brian but that is correct.

I heard way back when that was Wild Heart studio footage. If it turns out that's actually the Bella Donna footage that will be on the DVD, I'm even more excited. I've always wanted to see those snippets extended. And on repeat.

This is one of the reasons why I don't post here anymore. There seems to be a serious lack of respect towards me and my board, which seems to have continued on a regular basis. Not all the time, but I have read things here and there in various threads in the Stevie forum & in the Chit Chat forum. You think it's not classy for me to defend what's right and give credit where credit is due? Fine. I also think it's not classy to constantly refer to Seven Wonders as "that other board" or to borrow things from Seven Wonders and not post where it's from. The same as I would anyone else that would take something from The Ledge and post it on Seven Wonders or wherever and not say where it's from. It's tacky. Say where the information is from. Is that so difficult?

I find it silly to contact the mods here regarding something that doesn't really affect anyone. I simply thanked trackaghost for pointing out something which is not always practiced on this board. Then suddenly, my words were twisted and used against me for some odd reason.

I agree, we are all fans with the same common objective. That's why I can't quite understand why common courtesy and mutual respect cannot be shown toward me and my board by certain members. I've never once come on here to say a word to anyone in regards to certain comments that have been made or what have you. All of my posts here have been Stevie-related. Even up until recently. This is the first time I have ever said a word on any of this here, but just know that I have been watching and reading for awhile, biting my lip and finally felt I needed to say what was on my mind.

I can see the contempt you have towards me from your post (for some unknown reason), but rest assured, I won't be posting here beyond this thread. I've contributed alot to this board in the past and hardly ever had a conflict with anyone. I have always been respectful, I have always been courteous, and I have always tried to do the right thing. I have also monetarily contributed to this site in the past, which as a moderator here, I'm sure you can appreciate. But yeah, I should "get over myself" for standing up for proper internet etiquette. Ok. Anyway I simply wanted to state my opinion on this issue and now I have done so. I have nothing more to say here...

I'd be really surpised if the amatuerish Edge video of a really thin Stevie running around with a doll is the one on the DVD.The Scarlett version of Stand Back however costed 85k to make ,not chump change for a video in 1983 so I'm glad it is being made available on DVD .It kind of signals a nice change form the conservative and pedestrianly rote choices made by the La Nicks camp as of late.

Yeah, I'm not sure what this footage will end up being. I always thought it was BD sessions, but me & Theresa watched Behind the Music the other day & there she was belting out "Nothing Ever Changes" in what looked to be similar footage. Was NEC a BD demo?

interesting.

by the way, I also find it interesting that all these years we've been calling the alternate Stand Back the "Civil War" version only to find out Stevie calls it the "Scarlett" version.

similar to how we always titled Candlebright as Nomad.

not that we'd ever have any way of knowing what it was actually called in Stevie's mind...

Yes, in Stevie's mind, "Storms" is "Always Been a Storm", and "How Still My Love" is "Still of the Night", etc.

I bet to Stevie, that Stand Back video is the "Well. . . I Have Dreamed of Dixie. . . as All the Gypsies Have" version.

There was a Tom Petty documentary on MTV years back that featured footage of Tom teaching Stevie how to sing Stop Draggin'... and then them recording it. It looked very similar to a lot of the footage in the SIAB video.

I thought that was interesting too. Obviously that Stand Back was her version of Gone With The Wind.

I do remember seeing this one too. I think Stevie was wearing glasses and she was still afflicted with the "tusk poodle" perm. The "falling down" scene in the Bitch video appears to be a Wild Heart session. Just like you can tell the age of a tree by its rings, you can tell the age of a Stevie video by her hair.
