I know what to expect with that. But you're right, she did work hard to sell that song in Vegas when I saw it. Something about the tempo just didn't work for me. In spite of the effort.

yeah...something about Sorcerer has always been off to me. I can't describe it. I like it, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't miss it.

Why exactly do people even go to live shows then? Or shuttle lift offs? Or sports events? Parades? This is a hysterical position.

The RP stuff in Vegas on it was fun. And she really works it. The end kind of works live. That BN era thing is great for the harmonies of course. Then again, it was 30+ years ago. All those BN shows had soaring and fantastic harmonies.

My family has faced a rash of health and financial setbacks. Pure and simple. Having a financial planner to tell me how to wisely invest the money I don't have to begin with, isn't going to change that. I don't begrudge you the money you have and the ability to spend it however you please... I'm sure you've worked very hard for what you have... but I still think your response sounded arrogant. Especially since my initial comments to you were meant in jest. ![]() Quote:
Granted, it's from the comfort of my own home, but I'm still viewing it. I can hear when Stevie's flat, I can see when she looks tired or sick. The fact that I'm not in the same room with her, doesn't change that. And, hell, being able to re-watch a song over and over again would actually put the performance under more scrutiny. But if my opinions don't matter on this topic, then I'll just point to Joe (jwd), who's been a fan as long as you have and has been attending shows as long as you have, and still thoroughly enjoys himself and the songs Stevie performs.

I'm not discussing this with Joe. Maybe he and I have different standards and expectations. That would be another discussion.

I'm very late to the discussion, but I really like that Silver Springs is on the tracklist.
I was listening to remastered Rumours yesterday and thinking yet again what a total travesty it was that this masterpiece of a song -- Stevie's best ever -- didn't make it on the original album. I imagine Stevie thinks the same. So she probably wants to make sure that as many people as possible hear the original version. I'm sure there are many people who will buy a Stevie "best of" that never got the remastered Rumours and this is a way to present the song to an entire new group of people. I'm not that bugged by the tracklist, except that it doesn't have one or two new songs. I figure this CD isn't for me, it's for the non-hardcore fan. |

Me too. It closes the book on the whole Silver Springs Stevie/Mick Timespace fiasco. I wonder which "original Fleetwood Mac version" will be included. The version that's on the b-side of the Go Your Own Way 45 has never been issued on CD (The version on The Chain box set is close, but it was again mixed differently--her backup vocals at the end were dropped down in the mix).

It's kind of hard to hard a best of when you had three hits and toured four times in 25 years

Hey there to everyone!
I seldom post (obviously)... but felt compelled to join in on this conversation albeit late. I've been reading this thread with a lot of interest and just wanted to comment. I've had a 'love affair' with Stevie for 20+ years and have seen her perform at last 30 times and met her twice. Each year I hope we'll get an album with NEW songs, but... doesn't seem to be reality. Thank God for the vast collection of high quality demos available. I think the tracklist for the new album is okay - the title is lame as hell! The DVD sounds great. May not be NEW material, but at least it's something. I'm holding out for the coffee table book of artwork and poetry. What a dream! This debate about attending concerts... Life happens and can prohibit us from shelling out top dollar for tickets... so in that case, a video or audio recording is certainly better than nothing; however, I have to agree with SPARKY in that you really can't gauge the live performance by viewing a video. The energy - from Stevie or any performer for that matter - and the crowd is 50% of the experience. BUT! What I cannot understand is actually leaving to do ANYTHING while Stevie is on stage. I've heard Landlslide, et al so many times I think... MY GOD... something, anything NEW! But when push comes to shove and she walks out on stage... she could be wearing a potato sack and sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and I'd love every second of it... and not move an inch.Peace. |

Yeah he is not on his 3rd rehash... when/if Lindsey ever releases his entire catalog IMO it will be far superior to anything I've seen/heard thus far from Stevie or FM but then I am completely biased...
