I really don't think it'd make that much difference if even all of us die hard fans stopped buying the cds and seeing her in concert. We're a drop in the bucket in relation to all of her fans, the casual Stevie fans. She'd still sell thousands of records and draw many to see her in concert. Personally, I don't think she owes me a GOD DAMN thing!

Exactly!!!! She doesn't owe us a God damn thing. She never said:"Buy my records or I'll shoot you", she never said:"I'm putting a gun to your head so you better do this or that". We bought the records and loved each and every one of them. Some might not be as good as expected but we bought them anyway. We're just the die hards and, like Johnny Stew pointed out so elloquently(sp?), we expect way too much.

We don't thinks she owes us anything, we just know she is working below her potential. And I don't think it is wrong to hope for/expect what you know exists, but isn't being done. Is it expecting too much to hope your artist delivers what you know she can, artistically? I don't think so. However, while I don't think our hopes are too much, I think people know by now that Stevie won't deliver all that she could, and expect that. We still like her, it's just a bloody shame.
Not expecting excellence from someone who you know can deliver it is like not expecting your child to get good grades, even though you know they could if they tried a little. Lowering expectations is bad. People tend to live up to expectations, if you don't expect anything, then that is what you may get.
Obviously, Stevie isn't such a cut and dried case, but the principal of expecting/hoping, and what that means, applies. And none of it has to do with "owing" somebody something.

Excellent points and I'd also like to add that if it wasn't for the casual /boomer fan base that will go to her oldies jukebox tours(albeit in slowly dwindling numbers) along with some of us diehards.I have a hunch that she might actually be more open to being creative and taking chances, but when she knows she has this boomer fan base that will show up to hear the oldies it actually makes her less inclined to create than if she was just catering to die hard cultish fans.

I don't think Stevie would allow a "best of" not to have BATB on it and we all know how picky she is about her live stuff. I don't think she'd have to versions of the same song on a "best of" or that many live songs on a "best of". It just doesn't seem to be Stevied at all. It just seems like some crazed fan has done what they think is a "great best of" and posted it as the actual one.

I hate Deep Dish version because it took an emotional song that had nothing wrong with in the first place and stuck a dance beat over it. HOW ANNOYING!!
I agree. I'll form my opinions about the set list when I'm holding the CD in my hot little hands...not before then.

yup. what she said.

i never meant to imply i thought stevie owes me something. i don't think anyone in the world owes me anything - let alone a singer i've never met personally!

and happily, because it's far too early for me to be awake, that's all i need to type, cause amber basically said everything i would have responded!

Agreed. There's no need to go into high chiffon drama over my original statement people. I still love Stevie Nicks. Having been a fan for over 30 years, it's possible I'm a little more objective in my admiration for her. After all, I was there for the releases of Timespace and later Enchanted. I met Stevie for the first time at RED ROCKS during the Timespace (Whole Lotta Trouble) tour. Like Cat mentioned, she is too big a presence in my life for me to ever give up. I wouldn't even consider it. Honey, I've ended relationships over it when I was younger.
And no, I don't think she owes me a "God damn thing."

She is that and so much more. I bet she has the whole product line. I'd love to just go play in her bathroom one day.

I can see everyone's point on most issues just stated. I will say this.
I don't think Stevie has as many "casual Fans" as you think she does.
At lease not the scope she maybe had in the past.

Ditto!
I get the reason why we're quibbling over the track listing - and personally I think there's some DEFINITE room for improvement (I mean WHAT is Deep Dish Dreams doing on there really...!) But, not so long back we weren't even sure it was going to be released AT ALL! So, surely this - anything - is better than nothing
True, no new song - but - come on guys, did any of you REALLY expect it, it was more a distant hope (that we're all mourning over as it goes whooshing off into the sunset)
