Definitely Stevie's. The song became way edgier in her version.

I know! Not what I expected either!

I agree! That version is an absolute highlight of the "white album" for me, and probably one of my favorite FM songs period. The long, instrumental ending is just stunning and haunting...Christine and John are working some serious magic there. Lindsey's vocal tone w/ Stevie's harmonies over the top just kills me!

I don't dislike Stevie's version, but she and LB together on this one are just a knockout...I would say white album version first, followed by BN, and then Stevie's.

exactly my thoughts. the ending is dynamicly, stupifyingly beautiful.

so, I chose Stevie's version.

I'm totally shocked too. For me it's Lindsey singing with Stevie on harmony. I don't even like Stevie's version although now I will have to give it another listen just to hear what everyone is talking about.

I love Fleetwood Mac's version with Lindsey on vocals. With Stevie, her vocals were just a little too jarring for me. She does beautiful harmonies, and I think I would have enjoyed a lead vocal from her where she used that softer gentle voice instead.
One interesting thing about Crystal, I read somewhere that it was John McVie that suggested including this song on their White album.

I couldn't disagree more. (and that has nothing to do with my love for stevie) Lindsey would also not be able to hit the high notes anymore either.
"holds true, bears believing" would be a struggle.

I've never heard the BN version but I'm with you...I hate her version. Her vocals sound very forced and harsh, somehow.

I can't help but find it suspicious that this poll is in the Stevie forum and not in 'Rumours' but that's neither here nor there....

Anyway, my vote goes to Lindsey. His voice is so pure and gorgeous in that song.

I agree that his voice is pure and nicely soft and oh yes, those harmonies are to die for, but I find it a little lifeless ...kinda like I don't believe what he's singing. Stevie's version, to me, emotes buckets and her phrasing is killer.

I like Lindsey's. Not only because of the harmonies. Mainly for Christine's beautiful playing at the end.
