Trying to calm down after having been scared to death when I smelt smoke after hearing something **pop** in the house. Whatever the popping sound was it made the TV flicker and I could smell a strong odor of smoke.
I removed all the items from the hallway cabinet and climbed into the attic (Pain in the ass, since last time I had to I was only about 5'-7" 180 lbs. I'm not about 6'-2" 240 lbs.) and squeeze around to see if any of the insulation was burning, it wasnt. So I had to free my way down from the attic (Broke the drywall in the cabinet turning around - I am very claustaphobic and the cabinet area is about 2'W X 3' H X 2' D and I wanted the heck outta there) and checked all the sockets and plugins in the house...Nothing. I called Debbie at work to inform her what happened and tell her if anything goes wrong it will be cats/Mom's irreplacable blankets & sewing machine/music collection & me in that order on the way outta the house, Lord forbiding if it was to catch afire (Please Lord, No more...I give up!!!!). Then, I noticed the lightbulb in the ceiling fan also **popped** when the TV did the same, so I decided to unassemble the ceiling fan from the ceiling and check for loose wires/connection/mounts...Nothing. So I reassemble the ceiling fan, put in a new lightbulb and it seemed to worked fine. All this grief and about 3 years scared outta my life (that I cant spare) over a frikkin' 60W lightbulb. Man, it doesnt pay to wake up at all on days like this... ![]()
