Setlist Ideas for John

I had Lisa foward this to John. I tried to do what he said and still make it feasible. He said to make sure it flowed. I don't think its a good idea to fill a set list with all obscure tunes, so I kind of did an off and on thing. Heres what was sent, I'd love to hear feedback:

More stuff from "Say You Will" and "Tusk" - I would also love for Stevie to do something from "Behind the Mask" and Lindsey to do "Tango in the Night". Something pre-buckingham nicks would be nice too.

Basically, no more than 4 tracks from 'Rumours' would be fantastic...

But, they're gonna keep on milkin' that sucka, like it came out yesterday. They'll do it til they're six feet under.

I think that they feel, that that's the only way they can charge BIG ticket prices.

I'm going on the fact that Chris won't be there. I say: The Chain, Second Hand News (rocked on SYW), Go Your Own Way, and Dreams (because we know it will be there no matter what).....but I like GDW live a lot too....never tire of it.

I think a lot of the songs from Rumours are still great to hear live. I wouldn't call it milking it when Im still enjoying tracks from that album live. Personally I thought Second Hand News, The Chain, Don't Stop, and Gold Dust Woman played great on the Say You Will tour.

I would say "Dreams" "Never Going Back Again" "Gold Dust Woman" and "Go Your Own Way". "Oh Daddy" instead of "NGBA" if Chris was still involved...

I know, and its a damn shame that a band that is so much more than just one album, feel that they have to keep going back to that one album to please the crowd - they cater to the 'sometimes' fan instead of the real fans

Oh, they are, and they did. But playing 8 out of the 12 songs (including Silver Springs) on Rumours (and that's without Chris!) was a bit much. Took up too much of the setlist, IMO, and I'd like to see them change it up a bit.

Looks like Blue Letter is a pretty popular choice so far, as is the Tusk material in general.

Honestly, I really want to hear the SYW stuff live. I mean give or take Storms, Sisters of the Moon, and Seven Wonders i'd really love to see Running Through the Garden, Thrown Down, Everybody Finds Out, MIRANDA, Steal Your Heart Away, and Smile at You. If i had to choose ONE from both it would be Miranda and Running through the Garden.

I could deal with just Second Hand News, Gold Dust Woman, The Chain, and Go Your Own Way. Thats enough for me. (no pun intended, but that song would be great too)

But most "artists" wouldn't so consistently feature ONE album from their career. They would want to show that so much other material was also of merit.
When you factor in the ticket prices(compared to Tom Petty, and the like).......that tells me that it's only about one thing. Making big bucks.

OKAY, I'd like to see Bob Welch, and Jeremy Spencer join in the tour, as additional musicians(Jeremy might be genre limited, stylistically, but Bob's not). Let them do 3-4 songs each. THAT would make for a tour of the variety, that I'd still pay to see.

You make a good point and I agree with you. Personally on the last tour I would have loved to have seen the entire Say You Will album played live + Stand Back and that would have been amazing. The band all seems to talk about the same concert that scared them to not to do too many obscure songs on stage. The concert where they played the whole Rumours album and they got a bad response. If I see Running Through the Garden or Miranda on the next tour ill be ecstatic.

What songs would you like to hear?


I've said (for a while now) that my dream Mac tour would be a little bit from everyone - bring back Peter, Bob, Jeremy, Billy, Rick (who am I missing, songwriter-wise?) Let them each do a song or two with the band. Then the Rumours lineup could do the rest of the show. A pipedream? Of course. But a girl can dream.....

Rick Vito does an amazing job with "Stop Messin' Round" and "I Loved Another Woman". I'd love to see him do those two live. As for Billy, I think he did a nice job with Oh well, but thats about it.
